Legs stuck in drib rail

One of the boys has been sticking his leg through the slats of his crib. He has mesh bumpers but he wedges them in the slats when he is standing. Today at nap time he got it stick. I heard him crying in pain and when I looked at the monitor and he was just standing in the corner of his crib crying. Then he flipped over on his side but his knee was still stuck in the railing. I am so glad I was watching. I dropped the monitor and ran in his room. It took me a while to get his leg unstuck. I actually had to pull the crib out from the wall to get to him and push his baby fat through the railing until I could slip his knee out! It took me a while to calm him down and them he went sleep.

Any ideas on what I should do? I wanted to get crib tents but they have been recalled :(

I don't think a crib tent would help, if I'm understanding right he got his leg caught down low on the slats around knee level, and the tent just covers over the top of the crib.

You could try putting another row of mesh bumpers around, above the current bumper pad, and see if that prevents him putting his knee through.

I assume you have a breathable bumper? I weave mine between the bars so it's snug. I also push it down below the top of the mattress. It's not as high this way but they can't get limbs caught either.

The Crib Tent II goes all the way from under the matress inside the crib railings to the top of the tent. I might steal his brothers bumpers if I have more problems or just put him in think pants to his leg won's fit through at all

The one I had was only the ends not all four sides. Of course they could have changed it since I has one. But, it was just a year ago. I got rid of ours when they were recalled.
