c section leakage?!

Hey guys well my boys are two weeks old! They are doing great but today I have a little concern. I noticed one of my steri strips was wet and a small spot on my panties was damp. I pulled of the one strip and seems.I have a small leakage of clear fluid. No foul odor or pain just a little blood and fluid.. I go to the doc in a week for my first check up, just wondering if anyone has advice? I feel like I am healing well have not had pain for about a week now..

 

Has the doctor seen the incision since you've been out of the hospital? I would just worry about the incision opening up. With my first c/s with my boys, that's what happened to me. It eventually closed up, but it was a pain in butt to heal. I would call in the morning and just double check. You don't want to risk infection, etc. But no smell is good I believe.

I used to use a hair dryer to dry the incision area after every shower (this is what the obstetrician who performed the c-s recommended). I would call and check if you are able to or make an earlier appointment.

Oh, and she also recommended not wearing anything that would cover the incision area until it healed.

 

I had a little of this in the first few weeks. I would call though.

 

is the incision still open or are the edges together? if the edges are together, it could just be that the steri strips didn't dry well after your shower and one was still damp...you could call to check but if the incision isn't hot, and you're not leaking foul green or yellow purulent exudate (also known as pus - sorry the nursing student in me is coming out LOL) then you're probably fine

 

Im surprised you didn't have a 2 week check up already.

My doc did the dermabond on me, I had a tiny bit of leaking but it stopped. I did call him to make sure it was okay, he had said as.long as it wasn't bloody, hot to the touch, or foul smelling it should be fine, but if it kept up he wanted to see me.
