I also would not touch an organ, and I'm not a sausage fan at all. I can barely eat sausage that I cook and definitely will not touch it if we are at a restaurant, and it is very hard for me to eat it if someone else has cooked it. Scrambled eggs have to be cooked so so or I won't touch them...too dry and they make me gag. I'm an overeasy egg girl and love fresh eggs, yummy!

If it swims, I don't eat it.

Scrambled eggs and omelette's are the only way I eat an egg. And considering I can't make an omelette to save my life, scrambled eggs it is!

    Organs?? Ewww!!

Dh's cousin has a special dinner twice a year or so at the restaurant. Tripe. They sell out every year. No.thank.you!

No game meat. No thank you. I wasn't raised on it, and I can't bring myself to eat it.

When I go to Italy, I have a hard time eating the meat there because I know it was a pet earlier in the day...

I was never a sausage person, and well, never knew much about them. Lol! Then I married into an Italian family and my favorite weekend is sausage making weekend. That feast is delicious!

Ewww, yeah, no sausages either. Not even hot dogs or pepperoni. They made us read The Jungle in high school & it completely turned me off of any kind of sausage.

Ok I did think of a few other food issues.
Not a fan of potlucks or other communal foods like salad bars (with a few select exceptions). Ewwwww.

Cannot eat bananas, I cannot stand the way they mush around in my mouth when I'm chewing them. YUCK.

Definitely no organs. Wouldn't even consider it, unless I was dying from starvation.

I can't eat game meat either - deer, duck, buffalo, rabbit, etc. - I just can't bring myself to consider it food.

I don't eat game, either. But I will, on occasion, eat buffalo in burger form, but then I don't really consider them game since they are actually farm raised.

Kim, I can't eat salad bars or buffets, either, with the exception of breakfast buffets. For some reason, they don't bother me.

my eggs (scrambled or omelet only please) have to be WELL cooked - and dry or I gag...

    mmmmmm....sausage! Love the stuff!

won't eat organ meat, and never ever ever ever would - not even if I was starving!

    octopus, squid :gag:

my food can touch (my favorite thing at Thanksgiving is to mix my mashed potatoes, corn and gravy together!!!), I don't eat in a specific order etc...

not a big marrow fan but will make beef stock with bones...

    not sure what else...

I have had octopus and squid and can't say I am really a fan but I love calamari!

I also only make my chili with ground bison but it is farm raised so not gamey. I like venison. I've eaten gator (quite tasty). Other game? I'm not much of a fan either although my uncle was an avid hunter and a gourmet chef. He could make any kind of game/fowl taste great. It's a lot in the prep and seasoning.

    I don't have many issues.

I refuse to have liver in my house. Ever. At all. And hubby loves liver. So anytime we go to this one restaurant he orders chicken livers to eat. That's fine, he doesn't get to kiss me until he's scrubbed his teeth and gargled with lysol!! My parents used to force us to eat our cow liver and it was sooooooooo gross!!!!!! I can't even stand the thought of it anymore!

I like tomato's, but not if they've been in the fridge and are super cold. Love cherry tomato's fresh off the vine or on the cupboard.

First couple leaves of lettuce go in the garbage.

I refuse to use milk, cheese, yogurt, sour cream, and any meats after the expiration date. David always says "Just smell it". I'm like..."No, I don't want that rotten smell in my nose, if the date was yesterday, the whole dang jug goes in the garbage!!"

I toss sandwich meats that have been opened more than 7 days, and any leftovers make it 5 days. I write the date on the container with a washable marker so I know when I cooked things.

My food cannot touch. I used to eat noodles with no spaghetti sauce. I could not stand the combo. I was well into high school before I ever ate actual spaghetti with sauce.

I love vinegar. I eat almost all my veggies with vinegar. Brocoli, Green beans, cauliflower, and of course cucumbers. I also add vinegar to chilli (which cannot have beans in it). Pickles are their own food group for me. My brother and I can finish off an entire jar of spear dill pickles in one sitting. My mom always buys lots of pickles for any veggie/pickle tray whenever we are going to be there. The only time I didn't like pickles was when I was pregnant.

I don't like cheese unless its on pizza and sometimes mac and cheese.

I don't like sandwiches (again the whole food touching food issue). Although I will eat sandwiches from Panera Bread. I did not have an actual sandwish including PB&J until I was in college. I also never had rice until college.

I rarely eat hamburger buns with my hamburger. I don't eat hot dogs very often but the same applies... no bun.

    Geez, where to begin.....

The only meat I will eat is chicken, turkey or beef (I am allergic to pork). Even the thought of eating something else (duck, goose, rabbit, gator, bison) makes me want to toss my cookies. My FIL make Duck for Thanksgiving dinner once and I almost puked. It looked so greasy.

I will not eat fish. At all. Of any kind. Even seafood makes me want to vomit. The exception is shrimp (but only a few) and albacore tuna from a can made with a TON of celery and mayo, only about once a year though.

I am not a fan of chocolate. I tolerate it, but prefer vanilla, pretty much all the time.

I do not like onions or garlic. Both repeat on me so badly, I almost vomit

I drink apple cider vinegar several times a day (it is very good for you!)

I really like cheese and dairy, but it doesn't like me. :(

I am not a fan of apples or peas, but I will pretty much eat any other vegetable or fruit.

Although my kids like to dunk their pizza in ranch dressing, I like to dunk my crust in a vinagrette.

I can eat cakes, cookies, donuts, pies...until it comes out of my ears. I have the worst sweet tooth on the face of the earth.

I'm sure there are more......it really sounds like I am super picky, but I swear it doesn't feel like it.

    I'll try anything once.

I have horrible texture issues so I eat most veggies raw. The only one I eat cooked are sweet potatoes and onions. Fruit wise I do not eat anything slimy (ex peaches) or grainy (ex apples and pears). I however love pineapple, kiwis, blackberries and blueberries.

I like calamari rings can't do the whole baby octopuses thought.

I eat no fat. I cut every little chunk off. It's another texture issue. The majority of the beef I've had in the last 2 years has been pasture fed and all organic. It's do much better.

I for the most part never eat eggs. They smell like sulphur and I'm allergic to sulfa drugs and the smell makes me sick.

I will only buy my milk from braums or whole foods(more expensive brands are okay). Other milk taste watery.

If its mixed foods like nuts or chex mix, ieat it one thing at a time.

I've been on this diet for 6 months now and I mostly eat organic and more nutritious and I've really became a food snob more than I was. I think I maybe what they consider a super taster. For dinner I had 6 different varieties of cheeses and pita bread slices

It is very good for you! I try to add some to water but I have a hard time choking it down. I love vinegar but have not discovered how to drink it without making me choke. You know that sharp taste? I assume you mix it with water?Bragg's is the best! But very strong.

i hate beans, all beans, anything with the word "bean" in it... the consistency is so nasty. i gag just thinking about it.

if ANYTHING touches my jello, i won't eat it. it has to be totally clean and pure (no crumbs, no fruits in it, *gag* )

if i'm eating lucky charms, i save all the marshmallows for last, then scoop them all into my mouth at once, then chug down the milk after

i eat all the chocolate off of kit kats, then shove all the wafer cookies in my mouth at once. so good!

i can't stand listening to people chew and swallow. gross.

    i *LOVELOVELOVE* liversausage/liverwurst :) LOVE. IT.

and let me leave you with a disgusting story: years back my friend and i became obsessed with hotwings. we'd work out for 2 hours at the gym then go out for hot wings (lol)... anyway, one evening she got totally pissed at me for not "cleaning my bones", and went off about how "it's shameful, and what would our parents think if they saw this"... she took MY bones and cleaned them off!!!! EW GROSS!!!

I cannot do jello at all. that texture is horrible!!

Devon will not eat any type of bean or pepper. He will eat areound them if they are in food. (reminds me of my dog when I try to hide his pill).

I absolutely mix it with water. I gagged at first too. The trick is, use just 1 teaspoon full then add enough water to make a shot. I can swallow it by cutting off my throat (kind of like when you hold your nose?) and then I keep it like that (so I taste nothing) then fill the cup with water and drink it slowly so you guarantee it to wash the taste out. I try not to even have it touch my teeth. It has helped with my acid reflux, but not as much as I would like. I am hoping with time, I can stop taking zantac.

No mixing with water here! Straight shot! My mom got me doing it a few years ago. I wanted dh to start to but he could not get past the smell. Well, I really wanted him to do it so one day, we were all on our way out the door and the boys were there and I said something like, "Watch how good daddy takes his vitamins!" He gave me a look of death as he took it from me. I was cracking up knowing he would take it in front of the boys (I am laughing now even thinking back to that day). He shot it back and it all came spitting back up! He just can't do it. I also will put it in my salad with oil.

I'm not picky at all. I eat almost anything.

Love coconut donuts and coconut flavor coffee. Never really had plain coconut.

Never heard of the bone marrow before. Just thought it was a solid bone! Didn't even know that was possible! Interesting!

In Italy years ago, we went to dinner with a family and they ordered for us. My sisters and I were going on and on about how good the chicken was only later to find out it was rabbit!

And I would never eat meat organs. My grandmas favorite thing to eat ever was Magaritsa the grossest thing ever!

OMG Nicole that is NAAAAASTY!!!!! :bad:

I've had tripe before - if its made correctly its really good - and a lot depends on the sauce - if the sauce is good the tripe is good...

I'm going to try it that way. It's supposed to be so good for so many things, including digestion, which I always need help with, but it chokes me so badly whenever I try to take it. Even with water. This sounds like an easier way to take it. Thanks for the tip!

I love vinegar but man I don't think I could ever do a straight shot. When I say
it makes me choke, it literally takes my breath away if I get it in the back of
my throat like that. I'd probably collapse! You are a better woman than I am! [IMG]

I am not picky either. I will try almost anything once. And I have learned to be more adventurous as I age. Plus as someone upthread mentioned, I grew up on a farm in the country until I was 7 and then after we always had a huge garden, etc., so I grew up eating a wide variety of foods. Sean takes after me, and will eat almost anything. I can only wish Brian and Craig did. They are picky, picky, picky.

Heather, that worked for me. I only used 1 tsp Bragg's apple cider vinegar added to enough water to dilute but still able to drink in a few swallows. I had been trying 2 tbsp. Bragg's to an 8 oz. glass of water (which is what a I read somewhere) but yowza! Maybe I can work up to that. I wonder if I added a bit of honey to the combo if that would help a bit. I'm going to continue to experiment but at least now I know I can do it this way if nothing else.

Apple Cider vinegar also helps warts go away!

  26. momotwinsmom

    momotwinsmom Well-Known Member

That is supposed to be super healthy that way too. I tried it that way, but with the honey, it slowed the process making it more painful to swallow it all. It's supposed to not be good for your teeth though, so to take it in shot form where it doesn't touch your teeth is better, I think.

And moles. My brother used it on a facial mole he had since he was a child. It fell right off. I've been using it on my facial mole and it is much smaller. It needs to have the scab fall off a little more so I can tell if it completely gone or not.

    Apple cider vinegar and warts

I heard about this and tried it. Years ago, I had a wart on the bottom of my foot removed. A year later, it came back. I did not do anything about it for some time. I then tried apple cider vinegar (as they describe how in the link). It helped get to the core of it but it never made mine go away. I also kind of gave up because I had some painful nights! Some people experience pain and others do not. (dh was not happy with the smell in the bedroom every night!)

My sister used it on her 8 year old sons wart that was on his finger after stuff from the dr did not work. It turned black and fell of in days.
