I'm expecting twins in November. I've used a range of bottles over the years. Now I'm trying to decide on bottles again. Which bottles do you use and like? The only bottle I will not use Dr. Browns. I hand wash dishes and I'm not washing all those parts.

We used Avent because I had an Avent pump. They're popular bottles, but we had problems with the seals on them. More han once, my kids had a whole bottle of milk spill on them. Maybe it was just out own incompetence at screwing them on right. Ha! We also has Soothie bottles, which I actually preferred. They're designed like the Soothie pacifiers. I believe they only come in one nipple though, so unlike Avent they don't have the different flow nipples you can buy. They also don't seem to be as easy to find. We got a few free as a sample first I think, then purchased a few more at Kohls. We also has a few sample bottles that were some kind of Playtex brand with the angle built into them. My kids didn't like those ones. But, isn't every kid different in their preference?

I had Avent with my DS and had the same problem you listed! I like the shapes of the bottles but not enough to risk spilling and wasting formula.

I've heard of the Soothies but never seen them.

Yes, all kids are different. I've been blessed my kids don't care. No telling how these two will be though.

The only place I've seen Soothie for sale is at Kohls, hanging on one of the racks near baby socks and toys where they have plates, etc. Just have no idea about the flow on them. They have such a large, flat area on the nipple though that, by the time my kids were older, they would sometimes push them in and off the ring...thus another spill. Good luck finding the perfect bottle!

That reminds me of the Nuby cups. If I can't find anything I'll go back to the Gerber bottles. I like the wider bottles though. They're just easier to clean. They're usually more expensive too.

Does anyone have experience with Tommee Tippee bottles?

I have use the Advent and I have spilled them several times so don't get those. I know you don't like them but I will mention them anyway. I have used Dr. Brown's bottles with the last 3 babies and they have worked great. I have never had them leak or spill. I have found that they extra pieces take less time to clean them spit up and spills. I just put them all in the sink and them rinse them with the bottles. Then I have a bottle tree that I use to dry them(bottles and pieces). Not say that you should buy the Dr. Browns just don't get the Advent.
    Just my 2 cent worth.

I'm lazy. I love love playtex dropins. Less mess, less clean up. I paid the extra for the playtex liners because they were a bit sturdier than the knock off brands. Silicone nipples that are shaped like a regular nipple...my kids all used them and I loved them and didn't bother trying anything else. Also good for helping with gas issues, once all the air is pushed out of the liner they can't suck anything but formula or milk from it.

I've used the Playtex Drop-ins and liked them but really don't want to deal with liners this go around. I have two cousins that used the Tommee Tippee brand bottles and loved them. I'm going to try those. If I don't like them then I will go back to Playtex Drop-ins. I've heard Dr. Browns are excellent bottles but I know myself and I really would rather not deal with extra parts. I see them sitting in the sink FOREVER. lol

I think much of it depends on the babies. I used nuk, air vents, avent, drop ins, and ultimately settled on the good ol' walmart bottles. They are cheap and easy to clean. but then again my boys never had gas problems, as i guess a lot of the bottles advertise they relieve the issue of extra air

I used Tommee Tippee bottles for my twins. The only thing is you have to have the "whole system" as the shape of the bottle is so different. I bought the breast pump, bottle warmer and microwave steriliser - has space for 4 bottles, rings and teats. It worked well for us as I breast fed and gave top up feeds with bottles. They switched very easily between the breast and the bottle. The teats come in sizes 1 - 3 (faster flowing).

I love the Born Free bottles for the girls! We didn't use them very frequently since we primarily breastfed, but they were wonderful! They do have a few pieces, but not quite like Dr Browns.

another vote for Drop Ins - the Target knock offs were the closest to the Playtex and did save a few bucks...as far as washing is concerned the holders only needed to be washed every other feeding or if some spilled or got barfed on so all I had to wash regularly were the nipples/rings...plus where we were living at the time the drop in parts were recyclable so I'd rinse and throw them in the bin with cans and bottles...
