I would like to read my children stories about twins and I was wondering if there are any good children's books that you can recommend.

Thank you and Happy New Year!

Beverly Cleary has a book of four short stories about twins named Jimmy and Janet. I can't recall the title right now. My kids like the book.

    I collect books about twins.

Little Miss Twins (in the Mr Men/Little Miss series - Roger Hargreaves was a father of twins)

There are several books in the Dora series dealing with her twin siblings. Along the same lines is Maya and Miguel (they had a show on PBS a few years ago and I think there were some books released in connection to that)

Tomie DePaola has a series of books about a set of twin dogs called the Barker Twins. (4+)

A little past the season but Bob the Builder's "A Christmas To Remember" is about him and his twin brother (Tom the Zoologist) who lives at the North Pole with Santa.

Tiki and Ronde Barber has a series about twin brothers who play football together - makes sense ;) (rec for grade 1+ but good story books)

Most major series have included single books about twins (I have Sesame Street Double Trouble and there was a Barney book a whole ago)

There is a series of books about b/g twins called Topsy and Tim. They are the general pre-school experience type things, going to the dentist/doctor/on holiday, starting school, new baby etc.
I also had a book when I was a kid called Jack and Jake, it's about identical twin boys and how everyone but their older sister mixes them up. It's very sweet but I don't know if you'd be able to get a copy because it might not be in print any more.

    Kendra,

You might have just given me a new hobby! This is awesome! How long have you been collecting? Thank you so much. I don't think my 3 year olds actually understand that they are twins but at least they know that they are siblings. I still haven't figured out how to teach them about twins.

    Have a wonderful 2012!!

I am a twin so I've always had twin books and being a Registered Early Childhood Educator brings in the children's lit thing. I also have adult twin psychology, biographies of twins and general interest twin books.

    Thanks Keirin,

I am surprised my husband who is very catholic doesn't know about this one. I am sure he will enjoy reading it to the kids.

    Happy new year!

We got The twins' blanket by Hyewon Yum out of the library a few weeks ago. It was a very sweet story.
