On thanksgiving, I saw that fisher price had the loving family grand doll house super set on sale for $80, I missed it then, but see that it's avail on walmart. I wasnt sure if they are old enough to play together with this set yet? There would end up with a lot of pieces, which they would need to keep together, I like to buy presents that they will be able to use for a while, but I don't know if I am better off on holding off for a couple more years for this one.

    what do you think?

I'm thinking...my daughter is the same age...and I am waiting until June when she turns three. She loves to throw toys, and I can only imagine the amount of pieces in the dollhouse that would be spread across the house! LOL! I really want to get it for her now as a Christmas gift, I just think when she's three, she will have grown up a little bit more, and appreciate it more. She is just really starting to get into dolls now anyhow.

But I can't wait! Not that I was a dollhouse kind of kid...but I can't wait to get her one! LOL!

yea, part of my wanting to buy it, is cause I never got to have one as a kid,

So what are you getting ur daughter for christmas, cause I have no other good ideas, I also like to take advantage if its a good price now.

Also being that it's for my twins, I don't know if they have the communication to role play that well with each other yet.....

My mom gave my girls a dollhouse when they were just about 2.5 and they did just fine with it. We purchased big wooden furniture so there weren't tons of little pieces everywhere. They used it more from about 3.5 to 4ish, but at 4.5 they're not as interested anymore. I say go for it. If your kids aren't interested now, you can just put it away for six months.

As long as its sturdy I'd go ahead. They many only play with bits of it till they get a bit older

You could always buy it and save it for their birthday. I'm sure no matter when they get it-they will love it!

She was easy to shop for. The boys were a pain!

-dress up clothes:Minnie Mouse outfit(we just went to Disney), Cinderella dress/shoes/gloves, 2 tutu's/wand/tiara
    -Cabbage Patch doll
-a three piece baby set-highchair, bed, sink thing lol
    -doll clothes
    -two Princess barbies
-those miniature Disney princess things where you dress them, etc. They are small-age I think is either 3 or 4+. My niece had a bunch of them-along with squinkies-and she LOVED them. I always caught her playing with them(niece is 6).

She is asking for a new baby, because she doesn't have enough..lol...so I think I will get her one from Santa. It's all she is asking for! What I have gotten I will probably let me sister buy off of me because she just has too much!

I bought my girls a dollhouse last Christmas when they were 2yrs2mo and they loved it from the moment they opened it. It's a smallish, sturdy plastic dollhouse and came with three little plastic dolls, a potty, a table and chairs, kitchen, etc. It was the hit of Christmas and they've spent many hours playing with it since - and still play with it. Here's a link to it: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Fisher-Price-My-First-Dollhouse/14931104.

My parents bought them a huge (4 foot tall) dollhouse from Costco for this Christmas - I'm sure they'll love this one, too - just not sure where I'm going to put it!

Hi, I bought my 2 1/2 y old girls a doll house for Christmas this year. It's a big wooden one and the furniture is pretty big as well. They're just starting to role play with dolls so I think they'll enjoy it. They have a 4 y old sister too so hopefully they'll all get some use out of it. I'm sure there'll be a few fights as they're not the best sharers yet!

We were going to get Olivia a doll house this Christmas, but we figured we would wait another year or so, so we could get a more long term doll house. I love the fisher price one (super cute and durable) but I don't want to have to get her another one in a year or two time that is more age appropriate.

IMO the loving family dollhouse is a bit too advanced at 2.5. Now, I know people who have given it and the kids liked it, but there are a lot of small pieces etc... I actually got one for my daughter last year (the super set was $100 at fisher price, lol), but she's only getting it for her 4th birthday.
