We are taking a ski vacation for about 6 days to Colorado and I am having some trouble deciding if we should take our 3month old or leave him behind with the grandparents. We are definitely taking our twins but I am having some reservations about taking the baby. It is a very long drive about 14hrs, I am worried about the cold weather for the infant and it will be much harder to entertain the twins with outdoor activities if one of us is always inside with the baby. We are going with some other family members so there will be some extra hands and help but they will also be busy with their children.
I just dont know what to do, apart of me feels like it would be great to just spend the week with the twins especially since they have had some adjustment issues with the new baby but I am very very worried that I might have some separation anxiety from the little baby. What would you do? Is it crazy to leave the baby at home at this young of an age?

My husband and I took a vacation when our twins were 4 months old. We left them with my parents. I do not think it is crazy to leave the baby home at 3 months old. If the grandparents are happy to take care of him, then leave him with them and enjoy your ski vacation!

Nope, not crazy at all ! I left my twins when they were 4 months old to take my older daughter to WDW for a week. It was a much needed break for her and I. They were fine. I did miss them .. but was very glad I did it.

I was left behind when my family went to FL when I was a few months old. I don't remember it at all! lol

I say go and enjoy your time.

Haha! I love it! So very true, he will not remember it at all, and honestly my twins might not even remember it! :)
    Thanks for the encouraging posts

I'm going the opposite route of PPs. I could not imagine leaving a baby of mine. I would probably not have planned the trip to begin with though. Leaving the baby behind with grandparents would probably be the best & safest thing to do though, as long as you can handle the seperation.

I agree with Jicjac, it seems so unnatural to me to separate a tiny baby from his mother.

Yeah, pretty much my thoughts, too. Honestly, I think I'd leave the twins behind and take the baby! I can't imagine skiing with 2 two year olds...or a 14 hour car trip with them! GL.

I think it would be a great opportunity to have bonding time with the twins without the "intruder" (in their mind)...

if you have enough pumped milk (or are formula feeding) and have willing grandparents I don't see what the issue is...

I think it's fine we too left our twins at 6 months for 5 days for a trip to Vegas :)
