Return of period

My babies will be a year on the 28th and I just got my period back... It started light yesterday morning and got heavier later in the day. Today, however, I have been very heavy. I am going through a regular tampon every hour or so and when I switched to pads I am going through those too. I can feel it gush if I cough or sneeze (sorry if TMI) I notice more clots than normal also. I am not very crampy (in the past my heavy day was severe cramps) Is it common to have such a heavy period after so long? After all it has been over 20 months since I have had a period... so I guess I shouldn't complain too much I am just wondering if this is normal or if I should call my OB/GYN tomorrow.

 

20 months! That sounds amazing! :lol: Mine was very heavy when it first came back at when the kids were about 8 months or so. It took a couple of cycles to go back to normal, but it is still a bit heavier than it used to be. I also had a lot of ovulation pain when I started ovulating again and that has tapered off since too.

 

I'm with Jen. It was very heavy the first few cycles & then I started having ovulation pain which was brand new for me. If you're still concerned tomorrow it can't hurt to check in with your OB/gyn though.

 

Fist-bump on the ovulation pain. That sucked bigtime.

 

Mine came back really really soon with this baby ( he is only 3 months old) I swear I hadn't even stopped bleeding from delivery when it got very heavy and then last month it was awful very heavy . - to the point I could not leave the house but not crampy either. This month it is 8 days late so I have no idea what is going on. Another new development I have had is a few days before it starts I have bad vaginal pressure that goes away when the bleeding begins. I had my pap smear done a couple of weeks ago and the OB said that this is what happens after so many deliveries sometimes. She checked my thyroid and did some other blood work but it was all normal. After my last delivery which was my twins, I didn't get my period back until they were 10 months old -so i was hoping to not have to deal with this for a while longer!!
