got new numbers back for 22 dpo.
    altogether:
    9 dpo: 16
    11 dpo: 81
    15 dpo: 452
    17 dpo: 900
    22 dpo: 6,640

even though they are high, am i still within the singleton range?

You can plug your numbers in to http://www.betabase.info/ and it'll give you your doubling time, and you can compare your numbers to other women with singleton and multiples pregnancies to see where it sits.

This is a calculator to give you your doubling time. You put in 2 dates and the hcg level for those dates and it will tell you how many hours it took to do that.

So much depends on when you implanted. Most people would have a 0 at 9dpo, where yours was already showing up. So that's 5 days before most people would even know they are pg. I'd say for getting such an early + that's it's probably a singleton just because the numbers started so early so they rose higher at an earlier dpo. And because they started so early it's really impossible to compare with a pregnancy at 14dpo that implanted and had trackable hcg starting at 12dpo. Make sense? So in that case your 22dpo would be comparable to a 25 or 26dpo because you implanted early. I have a few friends right now pg with a singleton that had much higher hcg than you (and higher than any of my twin betas). Then I've seen people with a lower number have multiples. Yours really are right on the cusp and could go either way, but I say single because you were + so early. Only an u/s will tell you for sure.

i guess i am wondering, too, because betas with my last (a singleton, were: 13 dpo: 47, 15 dpo: 129, and 17 dpo: 348. i know all pregnancies can be different, but the numbers are so much bigger now. also, i have five children, two of whom are identical twins. while i do know that ID twins do not increase my chances of having another set, the fact that this is my eighth pregnancy (3 miscarriages) would increase my chances, right? also, 2 out of the three m/c were back-to-back, right before this pregnancy. (one in july, one in august, then this pregnancy in sept). just wondering if the two m/c back-to-back could have thrown my hormones off a little and cause hyperovulation. so i'm looking at more that just the HCG numbers... oh well, only an ultrasound with tell! i go in next thursday, so i will let you all know!

Beta's can vary so much that comparing 2 different pregnancies is impossible. My dd's beta's were nearly as high as my beta's with my twins, and she was just a singleton. She was 9lbs12oz at birth and we joke that she just started out big (because my beta's were so high). ;) All you can do is wait for the u/s to let you know ;)

But if you go by those singleton numbers it looks like you implanted days later than this one if at 13dpo you were only at 47. So add on 3-4 days to the numbers you have at the singleton range (so you'd expect the 17dpo singleton numbers to equal the 13-14dpo numbers this time since you would have implanted 3-4 days earlier). Clear as mud? :) Of course it could still be twins, but honestly those look like early singleton numbers to me. And see how between 15dpo and 17dpo it doubled? Compare that doubling to your singleton, which also doubled between 15-17dpo. I'd be thinking twins more if those mid numbers were doubling every day instead of every 48 hours. The early numbers quite often double on the faster range and then as you get higher they change again as you get into the thousands, but the mid numbers are usually quite telling. I know that wait for the first u/s is long. I remember it feeling longer than the 2WW. Just out of curiosity, why did they do betas at 9dpo? That's so early!

i think because i got a positive at 8 DPO, and was worried about the possibility of it turning into another m/c, so maybe just to ease my mind, they went ahead and had me go in for betas??? that's the earliest i have gone in for betas. i'm guessing it was because of the two m/c back-to-back.

My re told me the only time he thought multiples with betas is when they are high very early on...later on its too different. Hope you get the news you are looking for on Thurs. Good luck!
