Hello fellow twin mommies. I am not sure of how many of you remember me. It has been a couple years.

But I am back and pregnant! Just found out yesterday. But they scary thing is how I found out! maybe tmi

I had biopsies done on my cervix 2 weeks ago because of abnormal cells. I got the results back on Tuesday and there are stage 3 precancerous cells on and in my cervix. They scheduled me for surgery next Friday to have some procedure done don't know what it was called but it was to remove a large portion of my cervix. I was told that I would most likely never be able to carry another baby after all this was over. Well DH an I have been ttc for 4+ years without any luck so I was beyond devastation.

But... All of that changed when my pre-operative bloodwork showed that I am pregnant! OMG! OMG! I was in shock and took a test at home just to make sure they didn't mess up and got a BFP! I am still in complete and utter shock. I have never missed a period. In fact my "period" or what I though was my period just ended on Monday!

I go for an ultrasound tomorrow to find out how far along I am and how many little beans are growing inside of me. I honestly have no clue! Then I have an appointment to talk with my OBGYN on Monday to find out what we will do about the precancerous cells since surgery while pregnant is not an option.

I am so excited, but scared out of my mind at the same time!

It's called a LEEP. I also had CIN3 and had to have a HUGE part of my cervix removed in 2001. The good news is, I carried twins NO SWEAT afterwards and then a singleton 4 yrs later and my cervix never shortened or even thinned out! The bad news is, CIN3 is high and really needs to be treated ASAP. Obviously, you will continue on w/ the pregnancy but AS SOON as you can-- get that taken care of!!

Mine was an "extensive LEEP" and at my six wk post surgery ck up (they check cervical margins) I was all good! Never had an abnormal pap after that! (ten yrs ago now!)

GL! If you have any questions pls PM me!

Make sure when you do the LEEP they put you under conscious sedation for it. I know some people do it "in office" and all I have to say is NO WAY! Do it in the hospital.

Okay so they did the ultrasound today and couldn't find any little bean(s) its still too early apparently. My HCG level is 722 as of yesterdays bloodwork so according to the doc that means I am about 4 weeks pregnant! I still find it silly that they count from the first day of your last period but whatever... So apparently this means we got pregnant right before I had the biopsies done! Which makes perfect sense since that would have been when I ovulated and we dtd a lot right before :FIFblush: knowing it would be a couple weeks before we could again. After 4 years of trying we would have NEVER thought it would happen then! But it did and here we are I guess!

    Ditto this.

I too had a LEEP -only mine was in 2004. I carried my twins to 32 weeks and they were preemies due to PTL. The Dr were worried about shortening, but really it turned out to be a non-issue!

Also, I have been clear pap wise since 2004 and had no related issues.

For the procedure, I was totally under general. I had another surgery at the same time though.

Congrats on the up coming arrival!!

It looks like our baby went to heaven. I started to get crampy and started bleeding yesterday. The Dr. had me go for more bloodwork and my HCG is only 750 it should be much higher than that. I go in for an ultrasound today so they can confirm what we already believe is the case. Praying for the best but bracing for the worst.

Well I went for the ultrasound yesterday and they could not see anything in my uterus. My OBGYN said that she thinks there may be something in my tubes. She was VERY insistent that they give me some injection to "kill" it (her words not mine). When I questioned her saying that she thinks she may see something and not wanting the injection just in case she is wrong she changed her words to that shes knows it is in the tube. Okay so when I decline your desired treatment you change your mind? wth?

Anyway I am going in for 1 more ultrasound and blood test tomorrow. If the #'s are still about the same that means it is probably ectopic and then I will be forced to make a horrible decision. But if they have already gone down more then I will just end up miscarrying naturally. Or by some miracle they will see the #'s going up. Not betting on it but trying not to lose complete hope.

Either way I am going to try and look for a different doctor!!! I love all the nurses in the office and hate to leave them but I am SO not happy with her!

Also I went to speak with a cancer doctor yesterday. They gave me ALOT more hope as far as conceiving and carrying a pregnancy after having the surgery! Whereas my doctor basically said there is no hope! I understand being cautious and letting me know the risks but to flat out say "just be happy with what you already have" really pissed me off! They are actually doing a conization not LEEP. She said they will do a very narrow cone and that it should not affect future fertility so long as they do not find any invasive carcinoma? inside. I will be having the cancer doctor do it instead of my OBGYN and it will be done at a better hospital!!! Yet another reason to change doctors! My OBGYN basically gave me not a single glimmer of hope and this doctor says that her opinion is completely different! Seeing that she deals with this type of thing more I am going to take her opinion and hope for the best!

I'm soo osorry! And YES there is absolutely hope of having another pregnancy! I have never been told otherwise. One thing tho, is there any particular reason they are going w/ the cone instead of LEEP?? Could you get a 2nd opinion there?? LEEPs are definitely preferred. Sorry again for your loss and ck into that Cone vs. LEEP.

GL!! I have tons of hope for you!
