When do your kids go back ?

So when are your kids going back to school (if they haven't already) ?
I used to like it when they started after Labor Day .. but now they go back the week before. On August 29th.
I'm really enjoying the nice, laid back days we are having.

 

A couple of years ago, we went to a schedule that starts after Labor Day. This year, they go back 9/6.

 

Mine start back on 9/6/

 

I think my girls start 9/6 the Tuesday after labor day.

 

9/6 (not soon enough after today!) It'll be time!

 

We are a week later than usual...thank the Lord! Aug 9th. I'm so glad to have an extra week. We've always went back aound the 1st or 2nd of Aug.

 

The local kids go back Aug 15, the county over goes back Aug 22. Mine started back with their full school load Aug 1. It's too darn hot to do anything else, might as well do school work.

 

We go back Aug. 18th.

Aug 22. It's soooooo hot here in August. I would prefer to start after Labor Day and go into June.
We have one district that has only 6 weeks vacation in the summer, then additional breaks throughout the year. I would love to be on that schedule. Less time off in the summer to forget stuff. But more time during the school year to plan family vacations. I hate being enslaved by the school calendar.

 

August 29th...1 more week of camp and two more weeks of vacation (or something close to that).

 

9/6...I wish it was earlier because there is always at least 3-5 snow days and then the kids don't get out till like June 15!

We usually go back the last week in Aug but because they are renovating all the schools and just built a whole new school just for 4-6 graders they wanted to give extra time for all the construction so we go back Sept 6th. My kids have had a very long summer this year...we took them out a bit early because we had a vacation booked already so they have been out since June 9th....so almost 3 full months!! I am ready for them to go back I think!!

 

Aug 11 a week earlier than normal due to all the snow storms we had last winter so if it's bad again the aren't going to school in June but it's currently 105-112 the past month with no let up in sight

 

My big boys go back August 17. The twins start pre k Aug 22. I love the September 6 start date, I wish we had until then!!

 

We go back the Tuesday after Labor Day, which gives us just over 2 weeks from when camp is done until school starts. We go on vacation for a week, so that gives me a good week plus to organize! The past two years it was before Labor Day, and that made for a 3-4 day transition for us, too short!

 

8/29 for us! :Clap: They only go 4 days that week, then 4 off, then 4 the next because of Labor Day. :good: I cannot believe it's only 3 weeks from Monday. :faint:

 

My boys got out June 20th ! I wish my guys were going back 9/6 .. seems like a LOT of schools go back then. I feel like its too soon to go back.

My two go back Aug 24th, and even with that early of a start day they stay in until the middle of June. Seems they only get a full five day week of school about once a month though.

When I was in school, we never started before Labor Day.

 

Aug. 29th here. :Clap: But for kindergarten they have a staggered opening and 1/3 goes 8/29, another 1/3 goes 8/30 and the last 1/3 goes 8/31. Then all kids go Thursday 9/1 and from then on out. We have not found out which day my twins will start. I did request the same staggered opening day for them. :good:

 

We start 8/17. I remember always starting the day after Labor Day and getting out on or within a day or so of flag day. My kids start in mid-august and get out the first week of June every year. They get a full two weeks around Christmas which is nice.

 

My kids stay home, but we are starting school on 8/24. We like to start on Wednesday because that is DH's day off and we start the school year with a party. We eat out for breakfast, present their new school supplies, talk about what we are going to learn this year, and do a fun science experiment. I can't wait! :banana:

 

September 1st, but Eli starts the 2nd and Peyton starts the 7th.

School year starts August 15! (K has a staggered start on the 17th/18th.) That seems so early to me -- we always went back after Labor Day growing up.

They do get out before Memorial Day, which also seems very early -- we got out in mid-June, I think.

And like a PP said, they seem to hardly ever have a full 5-day week. Also, as a WOHM, I don't love the two-week Christmas break, the 10-day spring break (for both those things we always used to have a week!), the 5-day Labor Day weekend.... Thank goodness the Y afterschool program also covers most of those things, except for the actual federal holidays.

We all (elementary, middle, high) started back on August 8.

 

My oldest ds started last week, aug 16th. My dd started today at 4K through the Church preschool.
