I'm starting to look at those, for future trips... Which do you recommend? I read that the explorer has some advertisements or whatnot that you can't skip and it's a bit of a turn off for me, but all I know about those so far is what I've read on amazon!

I'll probably wait until there is good sales to buy them anyway (so not before Christmas for all I know), I'd just like to do my research first... My kids saw them at the stores and seemed to like them all, although I don't think they're quite ready for them yet.

We have the Leapster Explorers. I haven't noticed any advertisements. And I don't think they have. And if they have, they don't know anything about them, or just haven't mentioned them! The boys picked up on it really quickly. I was actually surprised. I bought two games that they share. And I also like how you can download them from the internet, and they play movies too(Leap Frog Letter Factory is a great one). I think it's educational. Also, a great tool for those future trips! Be on the lookout for coupons, etc too. By subscribing to some coupon things on FB, I was able to go and buy a box of chocolate cheerios(ick), and saved $10 on a Leapster Explorer, and got a free download as well. So I waited for it to go on sale, and got it for $50.

We have leapsters as well. By advertisements, do you mean the movie/game previews?

We gave the kids Leapster Explorer's for their 4th birthday and they have been a huge hit. Great for long car trips. I have not noticed any advertisements. I purchased their explorer's on-line at leapfrog.com and got a really great deal. I waited for a sale, then bundled accessories and games and also got free shipping.

They're like little movie trailers for games and movies that they have. A&R liked to watch the Ni Hao Kai-Lan one, but after a while the interest wears off.

We have Leapsters which have been great.

There is a new Leap Pad coming out soon - sort of like the Ipad for kids, looks very cool.

My girls have the Explorers, they love them.we have 4 or 5 games. The one thing that I wish they would do is charge a little more $ if they have to but include the rechargeable battery and charger!!

I'm totally eyeballing the leappad for my twins when they get a bit older! We have the "My First Leaptops" and they love their "weeptops" I saw the commercial for the leappad and thought it looked pretty cool!

    New LeapPad info:

I think it is ages 4-9 and a friend told she thought it was around $100 but I can't find any info on that.

I saw someone post on Leap Frog thru Facebook says MSRP is $99, remember it said it has built in camera, has a library of 100+ learning games and apps. They also said to check back for more unveil amazing features too. So, I signed up for pre-order with them. I think we will just get 1 for the twins' to share and continue to alternate with their Explorer games. I'm excited that they have a few new games for the kiddos to play such as Disney-Pixel Cars 2, Get Puzzled, and Digging Dinosaurs. *We don't buy Sponge Bob, Ben 10, or X-Men (I wait on those until the are a bit older since they don't watch those shows). Thought, we don't have UP, DORA, or Ni Hao , Kai Lan yet. Does anyone have opinion on these games?

We have Tangled, Star Wars, Mr. Pencil, Pet-Pals, Scooby-Doo, Toy 3, and Globe.

We have the Dora game and my daugher really likes it. I am going to order UP and the Cars 2 game for them and give it to them this summer.
