My DS has insisted that he wants a lawnmower for his 3rd birthday. He is still obsessed with his vacuum and will follow DH around on the weekends while he cleans (DH wanted a pug -> pugs shed A LOT of hair -> DH is the one in charge of vacuuming!). I have looked online at my choices and I worry that they will be too small for DS...he is pretty big, close to 39" in height.

Anyone have a good recommendation for a toy lawnmower? We REALLY should have gotten it for him last year when he talked about it, but we didn't  Now that is all he mentions when I ask him what he wants for his birthday.

Fisher price lawn mower! I think he will be fine heightwise because he will make it fit.

We have the Fisher Price ones that blow bubbles - both of our boys still push them around and they are almost 3.5! :)

We have this one - the boys started obsessing about lawn mowers last summer and would literally stand and watch DH mow the front and back yard for a good hour or however long it took him. So we bought these - I wanted the bubble ones but DH thought it would be mess - he's no fun ;)

Anyhow - the talking drives me bonkers - but it also seems to irritate the boys most of the time so they "fix" it by turning off the talking. We didn’t pay this much for them – they were on sale at TRU but now I don’t see this exact one.

Our boys got that same mower at their 2nd birthday party last weekend and it was a HUGE hit! They pushed it around inside the house all day long, and it didn't even have bubbles in it. They just liked the noise it made. I tried adding bubbles to the reservoir the other day though and never really could get it to blow bubbles. I'm probably doing something wrong and not putting the "plug" back over the reservoir correctly. anyway, even if it doesn't blow bubbles they still love it :)

We also have the fisher price bubble mower and my son loves it. He mowed the lawn with dad every time. We also got him a toy leaf blower. That is another favorite.

Hmmm...you ladies have me thinking. Most of the reviews on the FP bubble mower say that it does not work very well (if at all!), so I was definitely going to avoid it. However, it seems that it the most popular around here. Do most of you have success with the it actually making bubbles? And does it make noises that sound like a lawn mower?

    We got 2 of these:

when they had just turned two. I was also worried about the bubbles not working and was surprised to see all the people above who love them. But, these are great and they still use them this summer and my 2 year old loves them too. I like how they have a gas can and the pull start. I got them 2 for 1 for 24.99 total at Toys R Us so the price wasn't as stated on amazon!
