Hi! I'm a first time mommy-to-be and a stepmom to a 10 year old. As of today, I am 10 weeks 6 days pregnant with twins and our due date is Dec 24th. I'm exhausted and feel useless for anything other than getting sick. I keep praying that tomorrow will be the day that I wake up with energy and no more all day sick feeling. Does anyone have any suggestions for easing this time? I am drinking my water but the idea of food makes me ill. I've never had problems with food, other than the problem of loving it too much, so this has been quite a game changer. Also, I FEEL like I've gained 20 pounds but when I weighed in at the doctor's office I haven't actually gained a pound...so confusing.
I am very relieved to find this forum and especially thankful to know that it's not just a forum for pregnancy but for years to come.

    Hi!

Congrats on your babies & welcome to TS!

The morning sickness was bad for me, too. Different things worked at different points for me. Early on it was toast or crackers. Then I found sprite and hard candies. My energy did pick up around the end if the first trimester as well.

Hi! I am just a few days behind you in my twin pregnancy - my "official" due date is December 27th. I'm also a step-mom to a pretty cool 14 yr old boy.

I'm so sorry you are feeling sick. I don't really have any advice for the nausea as I have been incredibly fortunate in that department. I have had some food aversions though. I find the less I have to chew, the easier food is to eat. So I have been eating a lot of fruit smoothies, mashed potatoes, applesauce, yogurt, you get the idea.

I'm also exhausted, but I do feel like it's starting to let up just a little bit. Yesterday was a great day full of energy for me, but today I am back to feeling like I haven't slept in a week.

Well, I just wanted to say hi and congratulations on your twins!

Taco Bell and Big Macs! Welcome to the roller coaster ride, fasten your seat belt!! The sickness hopefully will pass soon and the 2 horrible food suggestions I made really worked for me. Sometimes the thought of food makes you nauseous and your brain convinces your body not to eat. I would still try. The thought may make you feel bad but food may make you feel good! Hang in there :youcandoit:

Congratulations! My due date was Dec 24th, too... they were born 2 1/2 weeks "early" but full term for twins. Is there anything that sounds like it might stay down, even if it seems crazy? Sausage and greasy hamburger, bacon, etc. were the things I could tolerate the best. Totally nuts, I know. I'd go get a couple of sausage biscuit thing from McD's and throw out the biscuits. And you said you're drinking water already, but I found that drinking it with a straw helped my stomach stay a little calmer and less "sloshy" feeling. But mostly, it's just time. That first trimester was so completely exhausting, I am normally a night owl but I'd be in bed by 8pm and then literally couldn't keep my eyes open and would fall asleep working at about 1pm. Then at about 15 weeks, it got soooo much better. Good luck!!!

Welcome to TS and congrats on your twins!

That's funny because the only thing I felt like eating for the first 13 weeks or so was McDonalds!!!! I had probably eaten there 2 or 3 times in the 5 years before getting pregnant with my twins but I started craving chicken mcnuggets and big macs whenever the nausea would lighten up. Since DH just wanted me eating something he would made McD's runs at any time of day or night!! I also started craving Taco Bell fries Supreme...something I hadn't had since high school, and added that to my list of food I could stomach, lol!!! For me the nausea got better around 13-14 weeks so I hope you're near the end.

WElcoe and congrats! My boys were suppose to be Christmas Eve babies too, but they were born Dec 4th. It does get easier tired wise and feeling sick, I found if I didnt eat as soon as I got up, even it is was just a piece of dry toast I felt sick all day. Lots of soda crackers and stuff with ginger in it should help

I don't know what they put in the food at McDonalds and Taco Bell, I don't wanna know! All I know is they saved my life and made the beginning of all of my pregnancies so much more bearable!

Wow! Well, I will try McDonald's and Taco Bell. I will try anything! Thanks for all the suggestions and most of all calming my fears that THIS WILL NOT END!!!! :help: Hopefully, I will fall in everyone's pattern and turn this ship around in the next few weeks.

Michelle- YAY! we are pregnancy twins! How cool is that?! I like your little santa babies on your ticker. We decided last year to invest in a (gasp!) a fake tree and I am so happy we made that decision. It's a relief to know we will be able to put it up right after Thanksgiving. I can't wait to take a picture of the babies in a santa hat and booties under the tree. ha ha

OMG!!! McDonalds must put pregnant lady catnip in their food!!!! normally, I cannot stand McDonalds!!! With this baby, I have had some mean McDonalds cravings!!!! Seriously, a few weeks ago, Travis and I had an opportunity to go on a childless date, he asked me where I wanted to go eat (I could have eaten anywhere) and all I wanted was McDonalds - he thought I had been abducted by aliens LOL!!! I could not believe it either!!!!

I hope you feel better soon!!!
