First I want to say hello! I have been lurking here for a few weeks and finally am ready to reach out to you ladies!

Here is a little about me- I am almost 23 weeks into my fourth pregnancy, with one 6-yr-old daughter and 2 early miscarriages. My twins are identical and I have been in the care of a specialist for TTTS. The condition of my boys is great, the fluid levels have pretty much stabilized with bedrest and protein shakes since week 17. My question now is regarding my cervical length. I was at 3.5 at the beginning of April, then 2.6 at the beginning of May. I started funneling at the beginning of May also, but there wasn't any change post-pressure. At yesterday's appointment they measured me at 1.3. I am not sure if I should be scared or not. I am on even stricter bedrest (up for restroom and eating only) and will go to my weekly appointment as usual. Should I be concerned?

    Thanks for your help!

I would stay in bed and dont get up for anything. Talk to you doctor if you are really concerned about your cervical length. You are being followed by a peri, so that is good, and it seems that the are keeping a very close eye on you.

Congrats on your twins and try and relax as much as possible!

    :welcome: to Twinstuff.

I agree with Slipper, I would definitely stay in bed and be on stricter bedrest and just get up for bathroom breaks.

:welcome: And congrats on your pregnancy.
Do you have a peri??? If not, i suggest find one asap. And yes stay in bed period. Dont do anything even fold clothes.

My cervix started shorting around 29 or 30 weeks. Then it got short fast. And my daughter broke my water and they came at 32w1d. I was supposed to be bed rest. but I didnt take it serioulsy because I didnt have any complication and i felt great. I worked until the day they came. I should have put myself on bed rest like my peri suggested.... So stay on bed. keep those babies in as long as you can :). You will be fine. There are many successful bed rest stories. Good luck!

My cervix started to shorten very early on as well. I went from 3.8 to 1.9 in 4 weeks then went to 1.3 and that held until I delivered at 35 and 3 with only modified bed rest. It is possible so just stay in bed. We borrowed a wheelchair for me to go to and from appointments so I didn't have to walk. That may be too extreme but it may not be! Good luck and congrats!!!

I used a wheel chair too when I went out. So not extreme! I was 2 cm dialated and 60% effaced at 24 weeks, and I carried my boys to 37 weeks 1 day

Thanks for the warm welcome and encouraging words! I have left a message for the nurse at my doctor's office to hopefully get some peace of mind. Thanks again!!
