So my 9 day olds :) are sleeping pretty well at nite but seem to do better when napping on the couch in their boppy with me next to them. I think it's comforting to them to be so close. We joke that maybe at night when we lay them in the crib we should do a "giant swaddle" and snuggle them together! ;) How close did you gals put your newborns in the crib? Right now they are about a foot apart at night. Thanks ladies! Feels good to be here at FIRST YEAR!!!

It sounds right, mine were a foot apart when I had them in my room in a playpen. Welcome to first year! Hang in there, it gets better :).

Ours sleep swaddled right next to each other and love it! The few times I have left space or did not swaddle they always find their way right next to each other!

My 2 slept right up against each other for almost 3 years!

    Welcome to the FY!!

Mine were about a foot apart until 5 months when they started getting mobile and waking each other up.

In the first year they slept next to each other, and me. They were close enough they could touch each other. After the first year I started putting them with their heads at opposite ends of their crib (which was twin bed sized). They've had their own beds for a year, but still sleep together 50% of the time.

Separate burritos side by side or with heads touching. Shared a crib for 14 months

Mine were bundled up separately and slept in their positioners about a foot apart up until they could roll over by themselves, then we moved them to separate cribs.

Mine were swaddled right next to each other until about 2.5 months old.

I used to swaddle and laid them side by side. Once they weren't swaddled I separated then for a shortbrime but now (at 9.5mos) they sleep together. I lay them down but go in to find them snuggled all the time. It's sweet. I'm hoping it continues.

are mine the only ones that don't seem to like sleeping next to each other? they wake each other up a ton. one will start crying and make the other cry. I really thought I would co-sleep them but doesn't seem to be a good idea at this point.

well I might try putting them a litte closer each night, since they seem to be so peaceful that way! But yeah I thought for sure if one screamed the other would wake, but that hasn't started (yet) lol!!! I just didn't know if it was safe. But I guess if they are in each of their own burrito's they really don't go to far.

We started with them about a foot or so apart, but within a few minutes my DS would wiggles his little swaddled self over until they were snuggling and then my DD would suck on his head!!
I only separated at 5-6 months when my DS got wild.
Take lots of sweet, newborn snuggle pictures!!

Mine HATED it. I so wanted to do it, too. But Orion detests being cold and would scoot, swaddled, over to Sebastian and 'steal' his warmth. Sebastian (who was fussy) would then cry. It just wasn't worth it for us. :(

My boys slept swaddled in a co-sleeper, about a foot apart when they were newborns. We moved them to a crib in their own room at 4 months, and into separate cribs at around 6 months.

I thought that too but my DD has a set of lungs and most times DS is sound asleep and sometimes I find him just staring at her like "would you please be quiet" lol and vise versa! As far as safety they told me in the hospital nursery it wasn't safe (but L&D nurses said it was) if they are swaddled they can't move and once they are moving all over I think they will scoot away if they want to!

Mine were swaddled and touching with an extra blanket (the kind from the hospital) over top of both of them tucked "in" That was how they slept in the NICU and so we continued it at home for 5 months.

Jessy used to suck jazz's ears and nose even that didn't wake her up!

Now see that's what I always heard that if they would have ended up in the nicu to have them put them in the bassinet together and those are little. But whenin the hosp the first day they had tobe under the lamps because we couldn't get temps right with skin to skin. But they did that too! Archer was suckling Addalyns nose and she was suckling his wrist, lol! But we tried last night the indiv swaddle with another blanket tucked from about ribs down around both and they only woke for their feedings every 2 1/2 to 3 hrs last nite rather than every 2!! Could just be a fluke *fingers crossed it's not* But thanks for all your insight ladies! Much appreciated!!!
