I didn't use a Snap N Go for the twins, but was messing around with the one my sister-in-law got for my brand new nephew. They definitley are smaller (but then, I'm used to a double stroller, so everything seems smaller) than a regular stroller. But all they do is carry the infant seat, right? So once baby grows out of the infant seat, the Snap n' Go is useless and you have to buy another stroller? Have I got that right?

Yes--that's exactly how it works. You are better off getting a single that can take an infant seat, unless someone gives you one for free.

That's what I was thinking. It seems kind of not smart, economically, to go with the Snap n' Go... Kinda makes me wonder why they are so popular.

Maybe people want to put off the stroller purchase? I have no idea. I understand the double because it is the only stroller you can put 2 car seats into. The single, there are so many other options. Although, I know some of the jogging strollers require inserts/bars or won't take the carrier.

People like being able to push off the decision about buying a stroller, it's very different once your little one is here and you get a better idea of what you want in terms of stroller features, but a SnapNGO is also considerablly lighter than a regular stroller, and much easier to put in and out of the car. Espeically if you are having a baby in the winter time, when you may not be taking the baby for a stroll, the SnapNgo is great!

If your SIL gave it to you, there's no good reason not to use it

I don't think it is a bad idea at all to buy a snap-n-go. We had a double one for the boys and loved it. They are more economical than regular strollers, they are more compact and lighter weight than regular strollers, and it does give you time to figure out what you want after your LO outgrows the infant seat.

After our boys outgrew their infant seats, friends of ours gave us a double side-by-side stroller and we decided it would be best to purchase two single strollers for the occasions when the boys are not together. For us, it worked out very well and we avoided the cost of an expensive infant stroller.

Can you borrow your SILs snap-n-go for a day or two and decide whether you like it?

I love my snap n go! I loved the double one I had for the boys too. It is so light. I want to get a jogger when she is 6 months but with the jogger I want you need to actually purchase an adaptor to place on the jogger and that is actually as expensive as a snap n go so i chose the sng so i did not need to lug around a big jogger at the infant stage. So for me I was spending the money either way.

She's not going to be done with it when I have this baby, so it's not really an option. If someone were to give me one, I wouldn't have a problem using it. But to buy two strollers (a snap n go now, a regular one when baby grows out of the infant seat) seems kind of pointless to me.

Our graco duoglide took both graco carseats. :p It looked dumber than a box of rocks, but it was one of the features that led us to choose that one over anything else. Of course, I think we had like 7 strollers altogether because I never found one that had high enough handles, or was deep enough I didn't kick it when walking behind, except for the ancient jogging stroller that eventually had a flat tire and a bent rim.

I think the idea is that you'd buy the snap-n-go as your infant stroller, much like you buy infant car seats to start. Then, when your LO is older, you graduate to a more mature stroller (one that is not intended for infants). A single snap-n-go is only about $50 if I remember correctly, so depending on your situation/preferences, it can actually save you money.
