Ok, so as my due date slowly (or quickly) approaches I'm feeling a little anxious about not being anxious! Does that make sense?? With the girls I was reading every book about everything, took all those classes, had EVERYTHING ready and set up weeks before where I am now...you get the idea. This time, I've done very little. The clothes are washed, I went out and bought a bunch of essentials yesterday (diapers, wipes, soap, washcloths, towels, burp cloths), and I have a car seat! I have a few other things too, they're just packed away somewhere. So is this bad? Is it normal?? I guess I know I've done it before, but it was a good five years ago...to the date tomorrow! We are also in the middle of selling our house/moving hopefully mid-June which doesn't help! Tell me I'm not alone!

You're worried about not being worried?

Relax--it really truely is amazingly easier, one because you are experienced and two because it's just one. At least for me that's how it was and still is--I'm still constantly amazed at how much easier it is to have just one baby. My girls were 5 when my baby was born and they've been a big help too. Get a good baby carrier if you don't have one already--you can still go about life with two kindergarteners just find with a single baby strapped to you. I breastfeed in the sling and my guy slept great in the sling so it really was almost like not having a baby at all after the twins. No huge stroller, no giant diaper bag--and he never spit up either! It was amazing. You don't have to change their clothes 5 times a day when they don't have reflux. I could just stuff a couple of diapers and a travel wipe container IN MY REGULAR PURSE and leave the house.

    You're going be just fine.

 You are already a proven pro at motherhood hence you not needing the books. :slap: What more can they teach you? Plus you have our smart momma's on here to help you. ;)

I'm not sure how ready I'll be when I'm where you are  BUT I was just thinking about it today that when I hit 20 weeks we started painting the kids room and by 24 weeks their nursery was D.O.N.E. :faint: Now I'm thinking of bringing the crib into the guest room by beginning of September. I think as second time parents we feel more confident since we didn't screw up the first ones too much ;) and we can keep it more minimal. I know with my two I had way too much stuff around here... it looked like a daycare!!

I  you and that little girl!!

So far, I can agree strongly with the above! I know I am still in the early stage but one is a whole different ballgame!

I think as first time moms, you have to have all the essentials plus some! WIth this baby, I have realized you dont need half of what you think you need.

What kind of carrier do you have? I have a Moby and so far I love it. However I know I will be nursing outside all summer. I started to look for a nursing cover but they are these huge things! I wonder if I can nurse in my moby wrap? I should get nursing shirts so I just need to lift the flap. I hate how my whole shirt goes up in the back.

Essentially, yes. I think since I'm getting so close I'm just getting a little anxiety over all the changes that are about to take place. Not only the new baby, but the move too. I too would like to know what you use to wear your baby! That's one of the things I've been trying to decide on. I am torn between the Moby wrap and Babyhawk Mei Tai.

Thank you ladies for making me feel a little less crazy!

I have a maya wrap ring sling--I've had it since I was pregnant with the twins, back then there weren't as many on the market as there are now, but I didn't want to buy a new one, so I just used it. I would probably have gone with a moby or something like that. But one advantage of the ring sling is you have the tail--the part that is hanging off after the rings--this serves as a great nursing cover. If fact, I had a couple people ask me if their was a baby in there somewhere! I think the websites of the different carriors have videos now that show you different ways to nurse descretely in them.
When it wasn't too hot, I found the best way to dress to nurse descretely was a tiny tee or tank top under a loose open button-down or hoodie type thing. You don't have a lot to lift up with the tank, and the upper layer keeps your back and sides covered.

Also since I live in Mexico, nursing in public is common place so I didn't feel very self concious.
