Slight contractions - what to do?

The doctor put me on the monitor yesterday because I felt something, wasn't even sure it was contractions. It did register twice in about 15 minutes, but it was slight. The doctor said it is more likely irritation of the uterus from all the stretching (I'm HUGE by now), but can also be considered a contraction, though slight. I'm nervous as hell about this and wish there was something I could do. I just want to make sure that I shouldn't be taking something for such slight contractions at this point in the pregnancy? It isn't consistent, nor do I feel it very often throughout a 24 hour period.

Please reassure me, or tell me what I can do about this.

You're 22 weeks? I was already having BH at that point. Drink tons and tons of water and lay down are the biggest tips I was given.

I know you worry so much and there's nothing I can say to soothe that, but try to breathe. You are doing so well!

With my twin pregnancy, at 21 weeks my uterus decided to become irritable. I scared me so much!! my dr told me to relax as much as possible, drink a lot of water - those helped but I still had contractions . I started using the ride on shopping carts at stores and had to adjust my job so that I could sit most of the time. I had several a day for the rest of my pregnancy but they never changed my cervix. Before I did the FET this time I kept thinking how happy and relaxed I would be if I could just get to the 20 week mark and it would be a breeze after that LOL!!! I forgot about all of the worry!!!! I worry when I have a contraction, I worry when he seems too calm, I worry when he seems very active, I worry at night, during the day - you name it I worry!!! I have more anxiety this time than I ever have!!

I had Braxton Hicks contractions very early with all my pregnancies. My dr. said that BH contractions can start as early as 8 weeks! I agree with the water and rest. I found that anything peppermint gave me contractions in my twin pregnancy. Then I found out that peppermint can cause contractions. No more peppermints in church for me!

I agree relax and drink tons of water.
With my singlton pregnancy I had a lot of braxton hicks starting about this time and I thought--but I'm drinking plenty of water--I upped my water intake any way and they went away, so even though I thought I was drinking enough, looks like I wasn't.

I imagine it is sooo hard for you to relax. Remember how many of us are rooting for you, sending tons of love your way--and I hope you don't mind, I told some of our old friends who don't come around here any more that you were expecting twins again--so there are more people out there sending you love than you even know. :give_rose:

I started feeling BH at 18 weeks with the twins. I agree lots of water and relax as much as you can.
