Seems like every woman I know felt their babies move around 15 - 16 weeks. I am constantly getting the question, "Have you felt them move yet? Have you felt the flutters?" And I have not. I know it's still fairly early to feel them move, but all these dang questions are making me anxious! When did you first feel your babies move?

(And it's totally stupid of me to worry. I was at the doc one week ago. When we listened to their heartrates, we could hear them squirming all around. The doc even said, "There's a lot of activity going on in there!" I guess I'm just anxious/excited to feel them, too!)

It isn't stupid to worry. It is normal to worry. We want those babies to be fine every moment.

Last time I started feeling movement only at 23 weeks (!!!) when I was already HUGE. This time, I started feeling flutters at 13 weeks, movement at about 16-17 weeks and am now feeling more steady movement. It's super frustrating to wait.

I felt mine fairly early but I knew what I was feeling and what it felt like to me. Also try and remember their size and keep that in mind relative to feeling them. They gotta do some serious bouncing around for you to feel them. Pretty soon you'll be posting "How can they be moving this much with so little room?" lol

A doctor once told me that the inside of the uterus has no feeling so you won't feel them untilnthey are big/strong enough to kick hard enough for the nerves on the outside of the uterus to feel it. I felt my twins very early butbthey were also my 4th and 5 th babies. At first it was very very faint I had to be sitting very still with not much going on to feel it. With this baby, I did not feel him until later but my placenta is in the front. There are times that I don't feelnhim much but when he moves, he really moves!! It is the coolest feeling in the world, I can't wait to read that you felt it!!!! With my first child it was like 23 weeks before I felt him.

I didn't reliably feel them move until really late.. I can't remember when, but it was way past when you'd even feel a singleton baby. It can have to do with the placement of your placenta too.. mine was anterior and very thick so it cushioned the blow from all those little kicks. And boy, did I spend a lot of time worrying too! Totally normal!

I felt flutters around 16 weeks, but strong movements was around 20 weeks. They were my 2nd pregnancy so I knew what it felt like. You may be feeling something and dont realize it. I find that the first movements feel like gas bubbles.

Oh, wow, thank you for all the great info! I feel a lot better now. Still anxious to feel them, but at least I know it's normal if it takes a few more weeks.

Oh yeah, totally normal! With this baby, I paid for an extra ultrasound at 18 weeks 6 days because I had barely felt him, they assured me and reassured me that it was completely normal. During the ultrasound he was moving all around and I really did not feel a thing!!
