Well it looks like we are making the switch to big kid beds tomorrow, which is earlier than planned. Lily kicked out the rails on the end of her crib, breaking the spindles into pieces when she did it, during a nap. We spent the evening in furniture stores trying to find reasonably priced beds that they had two of with the mattresses too. We finally found two acceptable ones within our budget and they will be delivered tomorrow morning since we had just missed the Friday delivery deadline :( .

In the meantime DH duck taped the gap closed with about 1/2 a roll of tape creating a wall of tape stuck together so she would not get her head stuck last night since we didn't know what else to do. I got the extra long bed rails so they have the security feeling of a crib because they did not do well when we tried to convert their cribs to toddler beds a couple months ago and we had to turn them back into cribs.

This is going to be a FUN weekend. I am praying it is not that bad. I still cannot believe she was able to kick through wood spindles like that barefooted and not hurt herself. I guess I have a little tough girl on my hands.

It's about when it happened to us too but we just used some mattresses on the floor. Honestly it went much better than I expected! Good luck!

Of course the delivery men just called with our time and it is right in the middle of naptime. We are crossing our fingers and hope they show up really early or really late.

I admit I splurged on the Toy Story sheets just to help get them excited about the beds since they are totally into anything from that movie right now. I found them at Kmart on sale yesterday for $17 a set instead of $29  . I figure anything that will help make this easier on all of us will be worth it.

It went pretty well with DD only waking up once at 5:15am because we think she was a little lost. DH pulled her covers up and she went right to sleep. They did sleep more hundled towards the bed rails for security I think.

It was funny listening to them talk before they fell asleep. Once on the bed they are still scared to get down, so that is a plus for now. We are hoping that it continues for awhile so they don't get into too many things even though we have put a lot of stuff into their closet.

Last night went pretty well except DS was crying at 11:30pm (just after we feel asleep) and DH found him standing between his bed and the wall. The space is about 2" wide, so I don't know how he got in there. DH took his hand and helped him step back on the bed. It didn't happen again, but we will have to see if the bed frames can be moved any closer to the walls. DD slept right through the night with no issues.

They fell asleep within 30 minutes, but the delay this time was because they wanted their Easter candy  and we said absolutely not since they had WAY too much all day. DD kept sneaking it out of other kids baskets at my mom's or from the candy dish on the dining room table when no one was looking. I would find her finishing up a few jelly beans or fruit snacks since both grandma's respected DS allergies and didn't have chocolate out since he doesn't understand that he can't eat the stuff. We kept telling her all that candy was going to make her :bad: , but that is all she wanted.

We were doing really good, better than I ever expected, and then last night DH comments on how great the transition has been and he didn't know why he was so scared of the switch. That did it and they were up about every 2-hours last night asking for a toy or a drink :( while screaming or crying hysterically about it. Since DH was the one to "jinx" things he kept getting up, but boy is HE crabby today. Hoping today goes better  .
