For those of you with kids still in cribs, how often do you change their crib sheets?

I got into the habit of changing them every 3-4 days when they were younger and started rolling around more, drooling from teething, etc. and I had to give up the sheet savers. But now I'm wondering if I really need to keep changing them that often. Wouldn't once a week be okay?

I'm lucky to get our own sheets changed every two weeks - I just don't get around to it during the day as often as I would like and by nighttime I'm tired. But of course, it takes a lot more time to change our bed than the crib sheets.

I usually change them about once a week unless we have a leaker. With DS wetting through I change his more often.

If there were no accidents, throw up or colds, I changed them every two weeks. I still keep the same schedule now that they are out of cribs.

weekly here. Unless we have a leak. They get bathed daily and have clean pj's and sleep sacks,so the crib sheets stay clean.

Uhh. I'm not good about this. Although I did get rid of the crib bumpers which has made it tons easier. One time when Orion was about 8 months he kept having a weird odor- but not on bath day. I finally smelled his crib sheets and they were DISGusting! I couldn't remember the last time I'd changed them. Currently mine are about 1.5 weeks fresh as they just got sick on them and had them changed.

Thanks. You all have made me feel better. I'm going to cut back to once a week and not feel a bit bad about it! Lol (Part of the issue is my mom made me feel like they should be changed every 3-4 days because that's what she did for me - but I have really horrible allergies and asthma, and our boys don't, so I think it's a different scenario).

We do it at least every two weeks unless of course someone leaks or gets sick. I always think I should be doing it weekly but man changing crib sheets is a workout!

Saturday morning all the beds in the house are stripped. That way I don't have to remember when I changed them last ;) Every single week to the annoyance of all. My family HATE making beds!

Yeah, I think I may pick a day, too, so that I don't forget. I'm already trying to remember if I changed the sheets on Wednesday or Thursday last week.

I'm pretty bad about it too, I have back problems and leaning over to change cribs (and now beds), kills me, so I usually have to wait until dh has time to help ;)

Every friday morning, I strip the 3 boys beds and mine, wash dry and back on by lunch time for nap.

I try to do it once a week, but I bought three sets so I don't have to wash right away.

Every 2 weeks, unless someone has a leak.

I find it to be a total pain to change the crib sheets because we have crib bumpers. So early on I started layering a baby quilt and a receiving blanket on top of that, both over the fitted crib sheets. Both the quilt and the receiving blanket are a little wider than the crib, so I'm able to tuck them down in the sides. I change the top 2 layers (quilt and receiving blanket once a week), but its not hard at all so I don't mind. As for the crib sheet, I only change it every 4-6 weeks, or sooner if the boys have puke in their cribs. On more than one occasion I have went to put a baby in the crib only to realize that there is some spit up on the receiving blanket. But since I use layers I just pull up a layer and don't have to worry about changing a fitted crib sheet at 8pm when I have a sleepy baby, for example.

I do the same thing...Sunday for me. All the beds and cribs that way I always know when they were changed last :).

Sorry but I couldn't help but smile at this...you know you're a Mom when your Friday night routine is sheet changing :). Don't worry, my Friday nights are no more exciting ;).

Same here! I would love to do it every weekend but I don't seem to get around to it but I make the effort to get them every other weekend.

It's sort of late to buy new bedding now, but I am a huge fan of the crib sheets that you zip on and off the top. We used to take the whole mattress out to change my first son's crib sheets! Now it is so easy. I layer a waterproof pad on top of the mattress cover, so it takes seconds to change. Maybe they should make them for adult beds too!

Yeah, I heard about those while perusing the First Year forum a few months ago, and I would have been ALL over those if I knew they existed when our boys were infants!! We have to "re-tuck" the layers every evening before bedtime, but it only takes a second. However, I still prefer using layers over the fitted crib sheet than wrestling the mattress in and out of the crib to change the sheet weekly :)
