I started spotting yesterday and it was red so I called in this morning and they put me in with the dr who did an ultrasound and they babies look fine. The Dr. told me he's not really worried about it but just to take it easy. I guess from what I've been reading some spotting is normal with twins? I was just wondering if I should just keep going about everything like I normally do since this is pretty common or if I should try and sit more. Does that even make a difference or matter? I'm a SAHM with two kids and we are usually very busy running errands, cleaning, different classes/activities. I guess as a pregnant person blood is sort of scary especially at this stage.

I would try to slow down a bit. I ended up bleeding at 9 weeks but it was more than spotting. what they told me was as long as there is no pain not to worry but to just take it easy. There are so many different reasons for spotting/bleeding. They also told me as long as you don't go through two pads in an hour.

Yes, any bleeding during pregnancy is scary. With my twins, early in the 1st trimester I bled like that. I had a subchorionic hemorrhage (sp?) my dr told me not to lift any thing over 2 pounds and not to stand for more than 2 hours at a time, and no sex. They told me that there really wasn't much more I could do. My bleeding went on for weeks. I started to notice that the more I was up, the redder the blood and if I was sitting and down more the bleeding turned more brownish and old so I put myself on bed rest for a long weekend my bleeding stopped. I was careful the rest of my pregnancy.

If I were you, I would not be as active for a while and see if that makes a difference.

I agree with the Previous posts. I also had bleeding in my first tri, and was told to take it easy, no lifting etc

def takeit easy just like Heather above I had a subchorinoic hemorrage and was told to take it easy until the bleeding stopped, mine also was more than spotting, but they also did say when it was brown that was old blood, so if/when it's red take it easy! It is scary when pregnant! Have a happy healthy pregnancy :)

Thank you for all the replies. I tried to not do much yesterday and the spotting was all brown.I had a tiny bit of spotting today but once again not red so I think maybe trying to relax is helping. Hopefully this is the first and last time this happens. On Sunday I had a party at my house for my Dad and I was working from the second I woke up till I went to sleep so I'm thinking that might have had something to do with it. I'm not going to push myself that hard anymore.

I was told that brown spotting is old blood and red is new, so maybe you are done with the actual bleeding and it's just finishing up.

We had spotting at about 3 weeks as well. Then again at 11 weeks. The first set of spotting was actually mine implanting into my uterus, the next round was due to sex. I was on pelvic rest for the rest of the 1st trimester.

 I'm sorry you are spotting. I think it is common in the first trimester. Try and take it easy. I had some spotting early on too.

I think spotting early on is pretty common especially for a twin pregnancy.
Just make sure and take it easy for a bit!!

I had spotting at 6-7 weeks as well and was ridiculously worried about it. My doc told me not to worry but I was a hot mess. I also just had brown spotting like you are describing. It was around the time I was moving so I put myself on light duty for a few days and it went away. I also had the same spotting at 18 weeks (only brown) and left work and demanded an ultrasound. Thats when I found out they were girls! It's scary, but know that the best thing you can do now is relax (easier said than done, I know). Good luck with your pregnancy.

I agree. I had spotting earlier on in the pregnancy and put myself on complete bed rest. As soon as I strained a bit, I bled again.

You might ask your doc to check your progesterone levels. I spotted at 6 weeks with my twins and it turned out that my progesterone was low. My OB prescribed progesterone suppositories and I used them until the end of the first trimester and never had any other incidences of spotting.

I had spotting almost the whole first trimester and it turned out that baby A had placenta previa that ended up moving up as she grew. There was really nothing I could do to change the outcome so I didn't rest since I was working, but it did freak me out so I understand the nerves.
