So Allison started with vomiting this past Friday. She started throwing up once a day around 5:00-6:00. She also stopped eating solids, and cut back on her bottle (3-4oz from 6-7oz). I took her into the doctor today and they said had a little virus she just is taking longer to get rid of. However I'm wondering. She throws up three hours after eating. It's straight formula. It doesn't even look/smell like it has started the digestion process (it smells just like the formula not smelly at all). She quit eating solids, and is sleepig a ton. Normally she sleeps an hour in The morning, an hour in the afternoon, and maybe thirty minutes in the evening. The last few days it's been two hours each--- except today where she slept for four hours this afternoon (I work, I would have gotten her up). She is still going to bed at her normal time and sleeping all night. I'm so worried. What would you do?

I'd revisit the doctor pretty soon. A virus sounds about right, though. Babies heal by sleeping, even if it seems like too much. Also, when my girls had a horrific stomach virus a few weeks ago their liquids came straight up like you're describing.

I'm sorry your girl is sick. I know you're stressed. Go see the ped again and hang in there.

Is everything still going alright with her bowel and bladder?

You know... I know my kids are older, but Nicholas a few months back got sick. He threw up every 24-36 hours. It was maddening! And NO ONE else got it. I was so flabbergasted and worried like crazy. I *think* it was because we were introducing food/dairy too soon. I totally understand the worry.

If she's still sick by Friday, or gets worse, I would call again, at least before the weekend. When my kids are sick-they sleep. The more sleep the better.

I hope she's on the mend soon. Hang in there momma! It's tough seeing our kids sick!

Have you tried Pedialyte? We went through a spell of that with our boys awhile back, and the pedi had us give them Pedialyte. It happened in the evening, and it was something like give them 1.5 oz. every 15 min. for two hours, then give them 3-4 oz. and put them to bed, and any time they woke up that night, give them 3-4 oz. (which they did once). Then the next morning we were to reintroduce formula. It worked well for us. Maybe her stomach just needs to settle a bit and that might help? I would call the pedi and ask....and if they say not to do it or that doesn't work, I would take her back in.

I know when my girls are sick they sleep a ton and cannot eat anything. When she vomits is it preceded by a gag or choking, like on phlegm? I would trust your intuition and get her back in. The one thing that seems odd is how you describe the smell of the vomiting. Is she lethargic? I always look for alertness. Let us know how she is doing. Hang in there.

Wyatt was doing this but his was because he was coughing so much. Took him in he has RSV. Dr said to cut his formula to make it thinner. so we are doing 2 scoops of formula but still 6 oz but using Pedyalite instead of water. It seems to be helping. I would see how she is by tomorrow night friday morning at the latest and then take her back to the doctor.

The not eating and sleeping a ton signals RSV to me. I would call. It may just be a nasty virus but I would call to be on the safe side. Plus if she's vomiting that much she may be dehydrated.

Poor girlie. It probably is a virus that needs to run it's course, but I would call the ped again just to make sure she's not dehydrated or anything. Pedialyte is great! My doctor has had me do 5 cc's of pedialyte every 5 minutes for an hour when my kiddos are sick. Just sit on the couch with her and give her a syringe full every few minutes as drinking a whole bunch at once is probably hard on her stomach.

I hope she's on the mend soon, keep us posted.

Pedialyte and breast milk were all we offered, no any other food at all. Take her in doc office in the day and er at night. Kids can get dehydrated fast. I took my som to er when he for it, they gave med to keep him comfortable and stop puking.

There are alot of stuffs going on: stomach bugs, croup, vrs,... Sometimes they puke bc stuff from their noses going down to their stomachs and they are upset. Good luck and get well soon
