What to wear?

Hello! The over-thinker is here!

My girls have (pre)school pictures next Friday and I'm undecided as to how to dress them. For those of you with girls...what do you aim for when picking out a schoo picture outfit?

I have tried to do a shirt that's not too fussy. Our preschool uses props in their pictures (which are very cute) so I have mostly put on solid colors for the pics and they come out great.

And I usually try to do a color that looks great on the kids (like LB wore royal blue to show off his eyes).

For school pictures I always pick a color that looks good on them. :good: Last year Emilie chose a dress to wear, it was not a solid color, but had a small print on it and it worked good. Actually come to think of it my girls have never worn solid colors for school pictures, but I do make sure it's nothing too flashy or too much going on with the dress or shirt (since at the elem school they are not full length shots just the shirt shows, but for preschool it is them standing up).

Emilie has pictures coming up next month and I'll help her pick out a dress to wear for it.

For my girls I just try to have them choose a solid or a shirt that doesn't have to much going on. Sometimes they have worn dresses or skirts other times it was just a shirt and pants. I only get the traditional picture of them but you can now choose to get more of the body. I also choose the traditional gray background too so any color usually works. Preschool they wore nicer outfits since the group shot they get the whole body.

My biggest problem is what am I going to do for their hair. I have done two braids, just two small pony tails at the top (one daughter has really short hair the other is really long), this year the one with long hair wanted most of it down with a braid on one side and a twist on the other. The one with short hair just had in a headband this year.

When my older two were younger I went all out making sure they had nice clothes in colors that loooked good on them. Now with 5 to get ready on picture day, if they are all wearing clean clothes and don't have bed head, we're good!

Hmmm...I never even considered the fact that they might be standing in the pics. I was only thinking about their top!

    Good pointers, thanks! :good:

    Ah ha, thanks! :good:

I chose the "storm" background for the same reason. I figured it would go with whatever I chose.
I have been thinking about hair too! I thought of a shirt they have that's cute and a cute headband to go with it...but...I don't know that I trust them to get the headband put on the right way.

    :rotflmbo: Awesome!

for Abby - whatever she picks out as long as it matches LOL!! Ian's not picky so whatever I throw at him to put on (he loves to dink around in the mornings so he's rushing around in his underwear at the last minute...come to think of it - just like his father  ) usually khaki's and a polo shirt or button down

For preschool pictures you can either ask the teacher to help with the hair or usually you can be there for when they take the picture so you can do their hair right before hand. I know when my son was to get his done for the individual picture they were taking them as soon as you walked in to drop off the child so it didn't take all day trying to get the kids organized and then later on when the whole class was there they took the group shot.
