Please tell me this is just a phase! From the moment he wakes up till the moment he goes to sleep all my one son (19 months)does is whine! It makes me feel so sad that he's unhappy but at the same time its driving me nuts! He does talk and I tell him to use his words but its incessent! His twin who is generally always happy actually holds his ears! Is there anything I can do to stop this?

I have one son that does that too. I have started to not respond to him when he whines and he has been improving drastically. If it bugs me, I move to another room! I now that this is not a lot of advice, but it is what works for me.

    Good luck

I did the same and as the kids I got older, I would tell them, "Mommy needs you to speak in your big girl/boy voice. I don't understand whining."

I have a whiner too! I just say use your big girl words because Mommy's ears can't hear whining. Then I ignore and give all of my attention to the twin or other siblings that aren't whining. Somtimes we over exagerate with the other kids while playing saying things like oh this is soooo much fun, etc. Soon the whiny one forgets about whining and joins in. Now I am not saying it is fool proof but it has been helping.

Us, too! Alexis has become the most high maintenance, needy, whiny, demanding little thing.

:sigh: At least I know we're not alone?

Well I don't have advice but I do have sympathy. DS is a whiner. My sister is convinced he is gonna be taller than me and still put his head back giving me the "huh huh, huh huh". I have read a few good ideas about ignoring.
