    Hello all!
I just found out we're expecting twins in Sep.2011, I was speechless, to say the least. I have 4 children and this pregnancy is so different than the other ones. I feel light headed, nauseated and huge! I already can't fit into my jeans and had to buy the belt extender thing. I'm scared because of my age (36), and ever since I found out it's twins, the only thing I see pop up on the net is Vanishing twin syndrome, so now I'm scared to go back to the dr! I am lucky in that we live in a foreign country and unlike the States, they do u/s at EVERY checkup and dr wants me to see him every 2 weeks. I'm also scared that I'll have 6 kids and how I can handle twins, one was exhausting! I am also very very excited and hoping and praying that everything goes smoothly.

Much of what you are feeling is normal. :) My Bff thought I was nuts at 7 weeks when my pants didn't fit and I wanted maternity pants. She knew right then that my dates were wrong or I had more than 1 baby. Turns out she was right in both cases- twins and 11 weeks.

How many weeks are you? Vanishing twin syndrome risks go down over time.

Congrats on your babies & welcome to TS.

What you are feeling is completely normal! Scared, nauseus, how in the world can I do this, but you know what? You'll survive. It might be rough, and you might not feel so good about decisions or physically, but you'll do fine. And just think, with 4 kids, already, hopefully you'll have 4 kids that can help a little!

I found out at 9 weeks and the first few weeks until I got out of the first trimester was scary. And the morning sickness, well mine never completely went away, but my kids were fine. Even for arriving early, they didn't spend any time in the intensive care unit, they went home with us. It was a rough go, when they were infants, but we survived. And you will too.

First of all... congrats!!! Secondly, :youcandoit: !! I, too, am adding #'s 5 & 6 to the bunch! I am due in September also and am already "bloated" enough to need bigger jeans. My husband is the one saying, don't worry, we can handle this! I'm the one stressing out a little. Right now, though I'm trying to focus on the health of myself and the babies! One of my sisters had twins 8 weeks ago so she is a huge help. But I'd have to say, the ladies on here have already made me feel very welcome. Good luck, mama!!!

Congrats!! I had the same feeling at 6 weeks we found out twins by u/s I had a feeling because of such high HCG levels and fam hx! But when at 7 weeks I had a bleed paniced expecting to see one sac and thank god both were there!! So every ultrasound I find myself holding my breath until I see them moving! But you go on and on and they grow and grow and so do you :) Welcome!

Welcome! These are my second and third babies and I still freaked out. Stop looking up stuff on the internet, you can't do anything about things except take your vitamins and eat healthy food.

Thanks all, I feel much better!! I know I'll do it, just scared. The last few days I have been so light headed, which is a new symptom for me and I don't like it! Cheezewhiz, I am 9 weeks now and feel like 4 months! SMyle_alot...I am trying to prepare myself for the reactions I'll get when people find out we're having 2 more.."6 kids! Wow...you are so young, 6 is a lot!" I hear it everytime I tell people I have 4, so sure it will come! I'm happy, excited and worried...6 kids? Wow.

Congrats!!! You CAN do this! The Lord gave you these babies for a reason, and He is there for you to lean on!! I am 32 and I have 4 kids, so the twins are #5 and 6. I LOVE the reactions (good or "bad") I get from people when they find out how many kids I have because I just feel so blessed to have 6!! I homeschool too, so it's pretty busy around here. I just have to take it one day at a time and do what works for our family. What worked last month, might not be working this month. Ex. right now I do school with my kids in my bed so I can rest a bit as we do it, instead of sitting at the table on a hard chair.

This is a great place for support; glad you found us!

CONGRATS!! How exciting! We found out at 8 weeks that we were having identical twins and had ultrasounds at every appointment until we delivered them. I was super scared of one of them dying too but the best piece of advice is to try your hardest to not think about what could go wrong and to focus on everything that will go right, like holding those two beautiful babies in September. As for the weight issue, I'm right there with you. I gained 7lbs in 8 weeks and it was then that I started thinking that I was pregnant with twins and I was right! Your weight gain will probably reach a steady/healthy gain towards the late middle and end of the pregnancy. I know I was terrified that I was going to gain 100lbs because of how much weight I would gain in a week (once was 12lbs in a week and a half). In the end I ended up gaining 55-60lbs and a good chunk of that was from pre-eclampsia. I guess you could say I ended up being one of the fortunate ones because I was all belly, although based on my cravings (double cheeseburgers, tacos, cupcakes) I should have gained a whole lot more.

Raising twins, for me, was extremely stressful in the first year. I am the primary care giver since DH works full time and those every 4-5 hour feedings made sleeping and getting enough rest a bit of a problem. I will say this though, once they get to crawling/walking things got a tad easier because they play with each other and are the best of friends.

    Good luck!! :)
