What Potty Chair is Best?

One of my girls is showing strong interest in the potty and my mother keeps insisting that I get her a potty. She squats down to pee and poop (yes while she is wearing her diaper) and tells me when she has to go. Also, if she is naked she will immediately run onto the wood floor and pee or poop. I'm not even joking, less than 60 seconds after she is out of the bath and she will go. I'm not too into completely trying to potty train until we are settled into our new house, but I am looking to getting her a potty to get the process started. Does anyone have a potty that they like a lot? I'm wanting a free standing one as opposed to a ring for right now. TIA!

I think whatever potty seat you select will work fine for your DD but I have for my DD the summer infant potty seat The one pictured is blue/green but it's the exact same as hers except it's pink. I like it because it's supposed to be able to be a step stool and you have a little rack for toilet paper on the side, though we cannot do that on ours because we have crazy cats obsessed with toilet paper. Also the potty ring is removable, so if you are ready for her to use a ring, you can. It's worked very well for my DD. Good luck!

There are so many different potty seats available that you really just need to pick one that fits your style, your needs, your budget ;)

I have an older style fisher price one (here's the new style), mine is a king's chair that plays a little kingly song when you pee in it. I actually hated it! I had it for my oldest ds and he went much better on a ring on the toilet, with a step stool for him to climb up on. The only one I could find was a dora one, with no handles and no "pee catcher" for boys, so we carried that with us everywhere in a small backpack.

I bought this pink one when my oldest dd was pt'ing, it's more versatile, as a stool and the ring came off to go on the potty. But she's so tall (95+% her whole life) that she was eating her knees most of the time! So we got this potty ring for at home, and this travel potty ring for in the diaper bag.

Since the twins are more normally proportioned ;), I'll use the pink potty chair we have and probably get the blue and white one for ds :)

We have the baby bjorns. Just a seat with a removable bowl for easy clean up. No bells and whistles. We also have a seat that goes on the normal toilet that they can get to with a stool.

We loved the Baby Bjorn potty chair. We actually had 3 of them (two in one bathroom and one in the other)!

They are easy to clean because there are just two parts, both of which have smooth sides and no cracks & crevices. They also seem fairly comfortable -- in fact Sarah still prefers to sit on it as opposed to the big potty.

We also had a Baby Bjorn potty ring (for the big toilet) which I liked a lot.

We picked ours up at Ikea very similar to the baby bjorns but the ikea chairs are under $5.00. We used them, loved them and the boys potty trained in 24hrs:)

Same here. The one for the toilet is also a Baby Bjorn. I have boys and this one had a decent pee catch in front. Some of the other potty seats were a little lacking in that area. The bumbo potty seats looked good too, but I was afraid the foam would be harder to wash. I never did try it so I have no expreience with that.
