I live in Southeast Texas, where one day it may be 70 ouside and the next, 45. My 13 yo has softball tryouts tomorrow and I am DYING TO GET OUT OF THIS HOUSE!!!!!!!!! We have kept the twins inside and away from crowds so far and they are 11 weeks old. My question is, what would be considered too cold to take the babies outside in at this age? I wouldn't even consider taking them if it weren't out in the open with lots of fresh air, but the high here is supposed to be 61 tomorrow. Im not necessarily considering taking them out to the ballpark tomorrow, but im not sure at what point I can when it does start to get warmer? Thanks!

I live in a colder climate and would (and did) take my babies out for a walk if it were in the 50s. I'd just bundle them up and also put a blanket over them in the stroller. we didn't stay out more than 30-45 minutes and it was sunny and not too windy out. I wouldn't hesitate to take them out if it were 60 or more.

I would take them also...I'm sure they (and you) will enjoy the fresh air!

At those temps, I would definitely take them unless it's supposed to rain or be really windy. Maybe take a light blanket along to keep them comfortable.

I agree with everyone else..take them out!!! It will be good for all three of you! Just take a light blanket. I would layer them a bit just so you can strip or add a layer as necessary.

GO! Don't hesitate!!! They will LOVE it! I would put them in a long sleeve onesie, pants, maybe a light jacket, and a blanket. That's how I would dress my boys during the spring. Go and have fun! It will do wonders for all of you! :)

Thank you ladies! With them being only 11 weeks I've just been so worried about exposing them to ANYTHING. Our pedi told us to avoid indoors where there was a lot of people around but he didn't say anything about outdoors. So, I've had to miss all of my DD's basketball games and most of volleyball. I just need to escape, not from the babies, but from this house and I figured that softball practice once a week would be a good start, weather permitting.

Oh, 45 would be like a heat wave for us. Bundle them up well for the weather and go--but be prepared to do the whole body stroller block when curious strangers start approaching.

The good thing is that we know almost everyone there and they all know we have kept them pretty isolated so I don't think people approaching will be a problem and I have NO problem keeping them back if anyone does get near them.

It's good you know most of the people there but still be prepared people will flock to those babies! Especially if they see a big double stroller coming. You might want to stroll around while watching your son play to keep the people off the babies. I have learned a lot from the ladies here. One of my favorites for when we're out is if you hear "oh look twins!" walk faster!!! lol

Oh my gosh. Take them to the softball tryouts!!! 61 degrees is waaayy warm enough in my book. When my twins were 6 weeks old we took them to a football game and it got about 40 degrees. We just bundled them up and they stayed warm as toast! :) So cozy! You need to get out of the house or you'll go crazy! :) Enjoy.....

I did take them out and it was wonderful! No one bothered them and they were both happy as can be. It got to 60 and I had them bundled so they stayed nice and warm. Im just going a little stir crazy being cooped up all day every day. I've been a SAHM for over 15 years and before and during this pregnancy I could come and go as I pleased while my older kids were in school so this has been a HUGE adjustment to be at home all the time. Im still just trying to learn how to be mobile with twins and today was a great start.
