How did your pedi appointment go today? Was it RSV?

Yep, it sure is. Samantha had wheezing in all lobes of her lungs, Alexis just in one. They responded wonderfully to the albuterol, though, so we get to go that route at home barring any changes for the worse.

Sam also has an ear infection.

Tis the season, I guess. I just feel so freaking horrible for not going in sooner. Last week at their well baby they were fine! Over the last three days, though, it has gotten worse.

Thanks so much for asking, that's sweet. I guess you and I will be surrounded by wheezing, snot, and tears for awhile, huh?

Only the next 2-3 years or so. Sorry, it's not really funny, but toddlers do seem to have a permanently runny nose.

I am glad the albuterol helped and I hope they're on the mend soon. It's hard to know whether to take them in or not.. sometimes the dr's office is worse than just waiting it out.

 It's so hard. We went to a museum that was 90 minutes away when the boys were 2.5 years old or so. Nicholas woke that morning with a runny nose, but didn't think much of it. Well, as we were getting closer and closer to our exit, he got sick. Threw up everywhere. And when he gets sick...he gets SICK(car sick that is). We were already practically at the museum, so we went. He did ok. Then he sat on my lap, quite lethargic, and was burning up. I felt awful.

Long story short, he wasn't getting better, so I brought him to the pedi's. He had an ear infection. And it was almost gone. I felt horrible! :( It happens, we all have stories to share. I'm glad the alubterol helped and hopefully they are on the mend asap!

Thanks for laughing, Jen! ;) No, I am sure we'll get through this snotty stage. No telling how we'll get through the next few years though!

They are sooo clingy. Paul and I have both been holding a child for... 4 hours?

We always pull out the popsicles when they're sick. It's a nice distraction and keeps their fluids up. Also if they're coughing and feverish their throat might be a little tender. Poor little bubs.

Awww poor little things. Sounds like your LOs are feeling a lot worse than mine. They didn't even offer the albuterol to Allie. The pedi did say her case was very mild. That's probably why. Today she is feeling so much better though. Except for a little growly here and there she seems back to her old self. She's eating really well (6-8ozs per bottle) and napped like normal. She's even sleeping in her crib on her tummy like normal. She hasn't done that in the last couple nights. She's had to sleep in the swing. So seems like she is doing a whole lot better!!

Of course now I have another kid sick. We're floating a stomach bug around here. About three weeks ago I woke up, got sick, and then was fine. A week or so later DD2 started vomiting. Her vomiting went on for a few hours and then she was fine. A few nights later, just like me, DH got up got sick and then was fine. Well tonight my DD1 started. Since 8p she has gotten sick three times. She's almost four but has gotten sick just a couple times. She refuses to puke in a bucket. Nice! So my five year DS is the only one left not to get it. The babies haven't either but I'm going to sanitize all the toys in the morning and wipe everything down with a lysol wipe and keep the babies in the nursery the next couple days. I will keep the big kids out. At least through the weekend just to be safe.

Oh no! I am TERRIFIED of a stomach bug. My heart goes out to you.

I'm sure we'll be fine over here. It's our first time being sick (we're so lucky) and I'm being a big baby about it. Why does my children being sick make me want MY mommy? ;)

Just wanted to say hang in there mommas! Seeing those little ones sick is just miserable. I have already noticed a huge difference in year 2 regarding the frequency of sickness but more importantly it is much more mild when it happens. Or maybe I am just more experienced at dealing with it. We had a playdate a couple days ago and that night the mom called me to say her kids had gotten sick, like a stomach bug that evening. I just cringed. Hopefully we'll skip this one! Hang in there. Hugs!
