We got rid of the pacies this past Monday. I didn't know how it was going to go. I told them at nap that the pacies were all gone, they had gone bye-bye. Jon had no problem going to sleep but Riley had a bit of a problem. I went in and reminded him that it was nap time and told him to go to sleep. He did! Night time was about the same. They did great at Parents Day out yesterday. Todays nap was a bit harder for Riley but he eventually fell asleep.

I didn't know how they would react to not getting pacies. I was pleasantly surprised they didn't cry for the pacies at all.

I am hoping they are this good when we transition to big boy beds this summer!

How old are your kids? And were they addicted to the pacis like my kids? I'd love to get rid of them but my kids are total paci addicts and I don't see it going well.

I hate plugs.. but 2 out of 3 of my kids used them. I wasn't sure how I was going to do it with my last child. But... one evening, I couldn't find ANY of them. He successfully hid 3 plugs (he only used them for naps and only one at a time). I found them the next day, but I wasn't going backwards! He did great! He did a little song and dance about looking for them, did that for a week afterwards, but he was ok with it. I was shocked! :shok:

    Good for you! :)

They turned 2 a week ago yesterday on the 6th. They weren't too addicted to them. I stopped letting them have the pacies outside of bed around 1yrs old. Maybe a bit later. They would find a stray pacie and would play and suck on a pacie. I figure if they can fall asleep in the car w/o a pacie, they should do fine at home.
