Me too. She has such talent when she channels it properly.

Me either. First, I don't think he was a good as James last night, although he did very well. But James is much more consistent and has never had a bad week, as the judges pointed out. He seems more focused on the prize. Scotty is very good but he just seems to float along (as teens are wont to do) doing his thing. However, don't underestimate the country fans and teen girls out there voting. I think it would be cool if it came down to Scotty vs. James, country dude vs. rocker dude, for the final!

Hated to see Casey go--especially before Jacob. He's much more talented. But he really brought it on himself with his choices.

I think that he just really knows what kinda music he wants to do. I cannot see him as a pop star but he has some qualities I like.

Would rather have seen him stay and Jacob go (guess the cat's out of the bag West Coasters!) but he seemed good. I thought he was going to hurt some of those girls he kissed. Down, boy!

So did Scotty get the second lowest number of votes or was that done just to add some suspense? I really think Jacob should have had the second-fewest votes and if it turns out he got more votes than Scotty than this show could be in trouble. BTW, what a boring results show tonight. Horrible group song, stupid q/a session with the emails sent in, boring performances by Bruno Mars and Crystal Bowersox (I guess her song wasn't too bad, but I've already forgotten it completely) and I have to ask the following question - why was Fred Willard at a British consulate party to celebrate tomorrow's Royal Wedding? Did Hollywood run out of its token Brits after Ben Kingsley, Eric Idle and the lords and dames they showed who couldn't get invites to Westminster Abbey?

Good question Craig. My comment about that clip is Eric Idle is looking really old. Scotty and Casey had good British accents.

I'll miss Casey's personality (and talent - he's a very talented musician). He's just not an amazing singer - he's good but not great. Still he could be in a really, really good band with the right people besides him.

I doubt Scotty was in the bottom two but there were a lot of very bad storms Wednesday night in the south. That could have hurt Scotty's core voting audience just because they weren't watching the show. I still think we're looking at a Scotty-James final. Maybe Lauren instead of one of them, but right now, she doesn't deserve it over those two.

I thought he was going to hurt Steven with that kiss. And that poor guy in the audience that was left hanging for the high five. Did anyone else catch Casey munching down on his fingernails at the beginning? YUCK!!!

I agree and that is why I don't watch them anymore. I fast forward through the entire thing. Bruno Mars is notmally entertaining but tonight not so much. All those little skits with the contestants make me cringe.

I enjoyed Bruno Mars but the rest was snoozeville with the exception of Steven's outfit. Loved it! So very Steven! :D

I thought they said they would reveal the results in "no particular order" last night but not certain.

I would rather have seen Jacob go too, but I am pretty sure Casey will wake up with a record contract today (unless he feels the need to shop around) and he'll be more free to make the album he wants. I am curious with all the changes this year if they give the artists more control over their song choices at the end for their "first single". I have always hated the songs they write for them in the past, but it seems to be more artist oriented this year.

So now.. um... go Haley and James I guess?

I haven't seen the results, but they were leaked to me accidentally. I was a little disappointed to see Casey go as I'd have preferred to see Jacob go instead. I have always been a Casey fan, but even when I saw his performance, I felt it was his time. He's made it really far, and he'll be making an album somewhere at some point. I thought James did a good job with his song choice. To me, he's got one of the best voices in the show. I liked Haley's performance. She didn't growl too much, and I have grown to really like her voice. I liked Scotty's performance a little, but I'm not a fan of his really. I'm over his voice. I can see my mother liking him though. I don't think Lauren will win. She is good and I was impressed she took a step up and even got an audience member involved in her performance, but she's not the strongest singer when comparing her to the front runners. I don't mind her though. I was a little frustrated she sang AGAIN with Scotty, but I suppose that makes sense since they both are country singers. They were cute when playing with each other before they performed. The duet with Haley and Casey was cute. He growls more than her and that was distracting, but they did perform well together. James and Jacob's song was corny, but mostly cause it wasn't a song James would choose. He looked almost uncomfortable singing it. He and Jacob had fun with what they had. Heck, they brought Jennifer in to the song putting her on the spot again. It didn't look like even Ryan Seacrest was particularly impressed with their song either.

The five remaining contestants will each sing two songs next week with the theme 'songs from then and now' meaning they have to pick one song from the 1960s and one current song. Saw one online story that said Casey had been considering Eleanor Rigby for his 60s song and something by Blink 182 or Santana/Rob Thomas's 'Smooth' for his current song but obviously that won't happen now.

J-Lo will perform on the results show along with Lady Antebellum.

Good night with the exception of one who I pray is next to go (Jacob).

It was a very emotional night for James who struggled to keep it together on his second song (Without You by Nilsson). But I think he's safe.

Scotty's first song was great - I didn't like his older song as much.

I thought Lauren might have had her best night of the year with two good performances (first a Carrie Underwood song and then Unchained Melody which is done a lot but still she was fine with it).

And then Haley did a Lady Gaga song which no one knows. I liked it even if the judges didn't as much. She slayed the final song of the night - House of the Rising Sun by the Animals. It's right up her alley and really like the judges say, she has grown so much as a singer. That last song or Scotty's first song were my favorite two songs of the night although I might give the night to Lauren overall.

Please Jacob go home - I can't handle two more songs by him next week.

Haley was far and away best of the night. I loved the GaGa song and didn't agree with the judges at all. House of the Rising Sun was perfection. Best song of the season for me. She's my definite favorite to win. I thought Lauren had a great night for her. Beautiful on Unchained Melody. Scotty did well, but I'm just so bored. I LOVE the Willie Nelson song he sang, and he started so strong, but he didn't have that painful edge at the chorus, and Always on My Mind needs it.

Jacob: no, no, no, no, no, no....no. Go home. Bad groin grab move in first song. Ruined Love Hurts for me. Why is he still there?

That creepy dance Jacob was doing made me feel wierd. I just cannot get into Lauren although her first song was good. I loved Scotty's second song alot. James was alright but I am over him crying (yes I am insensitive). Haley was the best for me. That is one of my favorite GaGa songs, it has a little Elton John flavor in it.

Pretty good night with the exception of Jacob.

Did y'all catch Steven's "Hi, Dad- Hi Dad!" at the beginning. His daddy has been sick - he'll be 95 next week. :(

    1. James Durbin - Closer to the Edge (30 Seconds to Mars): can't say this was my favorite performance of his but solid and voteworthy although he was a bit pitchy dawg

    2. Jacob Lusk - No Air (Jordin Sparks/Chris Brown): the first couple notes were hmmmm but then went downhill fast from there

    3. Lauren Alaina - Feet on the Floor (Carrie Underwood): one of her better performances; still not on the Lauren bandwagon but she has potential for a great career as she loses the Kellie Pickler dumb blonde act

    4. Scotty McCreery - Gone (Montgomery Gentry): loved this, great song choice for him

    5. Haley Reinhart - You and I (unreleased Lady Gaga): I really liked it and was surprised the judges were so down on it; didn't know the song but I thought it was great

    6. James Durbin - Without You (Harry Nilsson): LOVED this although he was a bit pitchy he was so emotionally ON; brought me back to middle school and how I loved the Nilsson Schmilsson album that this song was on; knew every lyric to every song and still do; great song choice and James is my #1 pick for sure; so heart felt and pure

    7. Jacob Lusk - Love Hurts (Nazareth): just glad he didn't do Hair of the Dog  ; vocals were good but I honestly did not like it as it's so not him at all

    8. Lauren Alaina - Unchained Melody (The Righteous Brothers): she made me like her tonight and that is hard to do; not real emotionally connected with the song but she is only 16

    9. Scotty McCreery - Always on My Mind (Elvis Presley): zzzzzzzzzzzzz; but Grandma was cute

    10. Haley Reinhart - House of the Rising Sun (The Animals): OMG that was amazing! she was on tonight! Love her raunchy, bluesy, raw Janis meets Adele sort of style

My top three: James, Haley, and I guess Scotty

    Indifferent: Lauren

    Please go home:Jacob

I pretty much agree with everyone else so far on tonight's show although I will say that overall I was a little underwhelmed by the quality of the performances. I actually thought it was one of James' worst outings of the season although I'd still rank him ahead of Jacob who better be going home. I'd put Haley first since her last song was the highlight of the evening, then probably Scotty, Lauren, James and Jacob way, way back.

Speaking of Steven Tyler and Idol, the other rumor I saw online earlier is that Aerosmith will be performing on the season finale. Wonder who with? (you would think James, but Lauren can also sing MamaKim's alltime favorite Aerosmith song with them....

Haley rocks. I hate that the judges don't fawn over her the way they do for everyone else. Her Gaga song was awesome, she always sounds professional up there, rarely misses a note.. am I missing something? Why are they so hard on her? I am glad she got praise heaped on for house of the rising sun; she made me love that song.

James was off tonight. Not terrible, I just thought he was a bit all over the place. I think he's very genuine and likeable though and he does put it all out on stage.

Scotty had his microphone flute hands back. And he ruined Willie Nelson for me. His twang is so karaoke to me. And did his grandma have a scottish accent, or is it just me?

Lauren is boring, but the girl can sing.

I can't even watch Jacob and his crotch grabbing anymore.

James was way off last night. I'm usually a fan, but he was disappointing. The first song wasn't sang or performed well. I didn't know it, and unlike Haley's GaGa I didn't really like it. The second started well then fell apart.

And I have no idea why the judges, who praised Jacob, are so ridiculous with Haley.

You just love to torture me with that song, don't you? Steven did promise James he would sing with him at the finale! ;)

They said she is Puerto Rican.

I d/l Haley - amazing - as is James. I agree James had a bit of an off night compared to his usual self.

I loved Hailey's last song and I liked both of Scotty's songs. James was good, but not his best performances. I thought Lauren's first song was really good, but didn't like her 2nd song (she can definitely sing, just didn't like her singing that song). Please, please, please send Jacob home!

I'm also hoping Jacob goes home tonight. He really annoys me. First with his comment about how if he is voted off it's not b/c he didn't sing the song well but b/c America doesn't want to look in the mirror. Then last night after he bombed trying to sing a duet by himself he was almost trying to argue with the judges through Ryan? It was odd and annoying.

Jacob almost never makes his own song choices either, and when he does they're almost always tacky and obscure. It's like he's never even heard the radio before. All of the other singers seem to come to their meetings with ideas about song choice and Jacob always starts out with a weird song, Jimmy tells him it's a terrible idea and changes it to a worse song that he's never heard of.
