Survivor Redemption Island

My brother got me to watch the finale and since I hadn't seen an episode of this all season I was kind of clueless about the contestants, but from what you guys have said it seems like I didn't miss much. But I'm wondering about the guy Philip (at least I think that's who I mean - the other guy in the final three). If you watched the reunion show, what was his deal? Was he as weird and confrontational as he seemed? Was he a former federal agent?

 

Yes, Craig, Philip was a crazy player. They also showed that he really was a former federal investigative agent under several different branches.

I think the right person won the season. I can't respect any team that intentionally throws a challenge (which eventually led to their demise) so I really didn't want anyone from Zapatera to win. That left Rob's squad and it was very clear who ran that camp. I know a lot of people thought the season was boring and predictable, but I agree with Jeff that Rob played a nearly perfect game.

I don't know that Matt will be one of the returning members for next season. Don't they record the next season while airing this one? He would be an unknown to everyone there and not have the same impact Rob and Russell had. If they keep up with the Redemption Island theme, I do expect to see him back soon.

 

I was really hoping for something unexpected to happen. Sigh. Rob did deserve to win, I just dislike him so it's annoying.

 

Russell went on the very next season right after he filmed his. I think there is a small gap there.

I am not sure how I feel about old players coming back. I mean really look how many times Rob came back and eventually won. I think that Phillip is a sweet man just a little odd. I thought it was rude everyone kept laughing at him when he was being serious.

How strange was that proposal?? They could not be dating for very long and she really looked like she wanted to say no.

I have to agree with this super boring season, snoozefest.

 

YES! I thought the same thing & he was more infatuated with her than she cared for him.

 

He was definitely odd, but did not deserve the bullying he got at tribal council. I felt really bad for him!! I love that Rob explained another side of Phil that he was able to see on the island. It sounds like he's spent a lifetime being misunderstood.

AWKWARD! Either she wanted to say no or my other thought was that she was trying to act surprised because she really did know about it. We'll see where that goes. :unsure:

 

Ugh, for the first time ever there wasn't anyone in the final 3 that I would have wanted to give a million dollars. This whole season was so boring! I hate it when it becomes so completely predictable every single week.

 

& that's the beauty of Rob's strategy- pull people along that were inflammatory and useless. Brilliant.

 

True, but so mind numbingly boring to watch.

 

DH & I said the same thing last night while watching it. Hopefully next season will have more unpredictability.

 

I was wondering how long David has really known that girl. I would say just a few months.

 

Well, the season ended just a couple of months ago, right? So yeah, I would think it was a hot and heavy but quick romance. Let's Google it...... :spiteful:
