This Week's Appointments Dec. 27-31

Tomorrow morning I have an appointment to go in to have a PICC line inserted for hydration. Tomorrow late afternoon I have a doctor appointment to follow up with how the medications are going for my hyperemesis. They aren't working, so I am hoping the doctor has some more tricks up her sleeve to help me be able to keep down a little bit of food. What a great birthday present it would be to be able to EAT!

 

I had mine today the anatomy scan I'm 18.5 weeks and found out sexes today!!! It's a boy and a girl!!! Yeah!!! And everything measures great all the parts are there! Inside and out!

 

AWESOME! Congrats on the healthy baby boy and girl . That's so cool you're having one of each. I have 2 boys, so I'm hoping there is at least one girl in there. I won't find out for another 5.5 weeks... feels like forever!

 

I hope so too for your sake! You will be outnumbered if not!! But yeah we found at 13.5 atleast one was a girl so today he was very happy to see a penis! Lol!!

Wed I go for my regular OB check up and am curious to see if I am dilated more than 2cm and if there's been any progress. Then after I go to the hospital for a NST appt.

The next morning - Thurs - I have my regular bi-weekly u/s appt.

I have a midwife appointment tomorrow. Basically going to find out how much I've gained (Christmas might have helped me catch up a bit) and how big my belly is. I think they are going to give me the sugar drink for the glucose test, apparently this office has you make a separate appointment to go have the blood drawn and you drink it before you go.

 

I have two appts tomorrow! I go first thing in the morning for my one hour glucose and then to my specialist for us measurements and cervical measurements...

 

I went this morning and got my PICC line inserted. It was almost painless. It is behind my left elbow and now feels quite sore. My arm is also really sore all the way up to my shoulder. I guess that is pretty typical. Hope I am feeling better tomorrow. I found out that now I can't lift anything more than 10 pounds... this is making my 2 year old really mad. He is kinda a mama boy who likes to be carried around. This will be interesting.

I also had a doctors apt. Babies heart rates were 146 and 162. They found them both right away this time, so no ultrasound (bummer). The doctor is starting me on reglan to go along with the zofran pump and wants me to try that for a few days to see if it works. She said I can also start taking pepcid if I'm feeling like I have any reflux. She said sometimes that helps the vomiting as well. I go back in 2 more weeks to see if we have the nausea/vomiting under control. Down 2 more pounds in the last 2 weeks.

 

I hope it helps Trisha! Ohh and your poor lil boy at 2 it's hard to explain why you can't lift him.

 

Ok, I gained 7 pounds in 4 weeks... however, there were 3 holidays (we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas) and I'm having twins for Pete's sake! I'm up a total of 16 which is way behind according to Dr. Luke and too far ahead according to my doctor. I figure if I'm in the middle I'm doing it right, lol.

Glucose test is in 4 weeks at my next appointment, I have the bottle of fruit punch stuff to drink. I measured 30cm at 22 weeks. Yikes!

 

Hope to get a good glucose test back in a couple of days.

Specialist is very positive! Everything looks great! Blood pressure is 116/70! Girls are both about 2.8lbs! Got some great pictures! Christian loved seeing the girls! It was a great appt!

Just got back from my OB appt. He didn't check me I am sooo bummed. After finding out at 30 weeks that I was 2cm dilated, I am now dying to know if there's any change.....and now won't see him for another 2 weeks. BOO!!!!! So disappointed.
But other than that, NST was fine and while I didn't gain any weight, my fundal height grew...so all is well.
Feeling SOOO darn uncomfortable -- ugh!!!

 

Lizz, he probably doesn't want to introduce any germs to the area unless there is an indication that things are progressing.

 

He might not have checked you because "playing" around down there when you are already dialated could push you along further. So if he is trying to get you to go as long as possible, checking you might make things worse. Glad you have a good appointment though.
