My twins are just over 3 weeks old and I have lost half my pregnancy weight (27 pounds) only 26 more to go before I hit pre preg weight. I am eating as well as I can when I have time! I am prepared that my skin may never be normal with out a tummy tuck but just curious how long it took you all to loose the weight? Now that we are done having kids I need a boob lift and a tummy tuck!

I hovered at 15 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight for about 2 years! Since February 2010 (my twins were 25 months), I've lost 13 pounds, so I'm just 2 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight and thrilled! The first 35 pounds came off without me even thinking about it. Then these last 13 pounds have easily come off once my body was ready to let them go, I guess! I'm so glad!

Good luck! You have lots of time, don't stress about it. Your babies are so young!

I gained 48 lbs and it was gone in just less than 5 months. By about 6 months I was down another 5lbs or so. I also need a tummy tuck, as discussed in another thread earlier today

I gained 38 pounds and lost 65 in 3 weeks after giving birth. The perks of insane pregnancy water retention I guess.

It took me about three months, but even though I'm now weighing less than I did prepreggers, it's all in different places. My belly still rolls right over all my jeans. I'm going back to doing 20 minute pilates as soon as I find the energy. That's what helped me get in shape before.

Took me 6 months. Now after 8.5 months, I lost extra 5 lbs or more. But the belly is premanent resident lol. It sucks because I will have tummy tuck after we are done having kids. But we will try to have the last one after the twins turn 3 which is still long long time. So I just exercise for now.

I gained 38 # and I lost 20 with the birth and the rest in the following 2-3 weeks after I got home, while trying to eat as much as possible to maintain whatever breastmilk I was able to produce. I had a very easy pregnancy and I exercised all the way to the birth so my stomach went back to normal pretty fast. I don't want to sound like I am bragging, but I am impressed with how quickly my body bounced back, I didn't expect it and I don't think I have that twin skin that you guys mention. I think if I did some crunches, it would be better, but most people that see me say that I look just like before being pregnant. I had a c-section and you can sort of see a small bump on top of the incision but it's hardly noticeable under panties. I think I have days when I am 2-3 # over prepregnancy weight, but there are days when I am even under that weight, so I think it would be fair to say I lost the weight. Between the babies, going to work and pumping I really don't have the time and energy to exercise, although I think it would help me feel better and more energetic.

I think I am also lucky to have good genes, I am a twin myself and my mom doesn't have any twin skin either. Of course, I am not saying I looked perfect before being pregnant but I look pretty much like I used to without making any effort to lose the weight.

Now... if it would be just as easy to get rid of that tired/exhasuted look on my face... :) but eh, it's all good.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Maybe I'll get a boob job while I'm there! I would seriously love to do it...I'm just afraid of the pain and the recovery. Oh and I think I need to win the lottery before I can afford it, lol!

I gained 45 pounds and have lost all but 5-7. I also need to work on toning my body, as I'm softer than I was prebabies. And I think I could isolate all of my remaining 5-7 pounds to my new, heavy, ridiculous boobs. Add me to the list that wants a procedure! I want these girls reduced and put back where they started! I think they make me look heavier than I am.

I gained 50# and JUST this past month at 15mths got to my pre-pg weight - but no where near my pre pg healthy condition of tones muscles....in fact I still dont' fit my pre pg jeans because those were from toned muscle body and not this one with some extra padding still....

I lost 20lbs right off the bat... I was 130lbs at 4weeks preggo (normally 120lbs) so from where I STARTED (130lbs) I have about 5lbs to go... or 15lbs pre-pre-pre preggo body :)

I gained 50lbs total, lost about 30 of it by the time I walked out of the hospital and was wearing my pre-twins jeans by the end of the summer. So about 3 months. I now weight about 10lbs more than I did before I had the twins, but I'm glad for that. I was too damn skinny before them!

I didn't get twin skin either, but neither did I lose all the weight yet at 6m pp. I do have "mommy body" (i am totally surprised whenever I look in the mirror) and am giving myself a year to get my pre-mom body back.

I was down to my pre-preg weight by 9 months after. My body is NOT the same though. I fit into about 5% of my pre-preg wardrobe, and my belly hangs over consistently! I have major twin skin as I carried almost 16 lbs of babies past 38 weeks. My stomach is destroyed. My only hope is a tummy tuck some day after we are sure that we aren't having any more kiddos.

I am hoping to lose another 10-15 lbs as I am still a little above my personal goal weight, and maybe then I'll be able to SQUEEZE into some of those old low rise jeans. BWAHAHAHA, yeah right! My low rise days are oooooover :p

I have horrible genetics when it comes to losing the pregnancy weight. It took me a full year to get back to looking like I did pre-pregnancy, and that was with a whole lot of hard work. I just gave birth again almost 3 weeks ago, and I still look pregnant. I've lost 30 lbs so far but I have about another 30 to go. It will probably take me at least 6 months, and that's with diet and exercise.

9 months up, 9 months down.
But the stomach - that's a whole other issue. I solved it with a tummy tuck when my kids were 4.

I'm 5'9" and weighed 143lbs when I got pregnant, when I delivered I was 200lbs when I delivered. I lost all plus 3-4lbs within a month and a half. The first 15-20lbs came off right after birth because it was all from the pre-eclampsia.

I gained 20lbs and lost that pretty much once the twins were born. I lost my "puffiness" though around 3 weeks PP, that is when I started wearing my jeans again.

It took me about 9 months to lose all the weight and it needed a little "help". My boys are now 15mo and my belly is beginning to look "normal". I'm guessing I have a long, full with hard crunches, time ahead before it gets back to its original state.

I was overweight before getting pregnant so at 5 months I got down to 25lbs less than pre-pregnancy weight. I still have about 20 to go to hit my goal weight but am not even trying until I am done with BF. Every time I try my supply drops and I have to work for a couple of weeks to get it back up. Soon though I will have to really start to focus on it.

I gained 60 pounds and lost 37 in the first 4 weeks or so. Sadly, I haven't lost anything since 6 weeks post-partum and I have about 23 pounds to go. Weight loss has always been a real struggle for me. I don't lose weight unless I exercise regularly, and right now I just don't have time. I'm a working mom and I want to spend all of my free time with my children, not at the gym. I don't fit into my clothes and have to wear plus sizes now, I don't feel so good about the way I look but I keep telling myself this is temporary and I will be able to focus on weight loss again someday. My babies need me more right now.

I gained 65lbs and now at 4mo postpartum have 8lbs left to lose. with both my singletons i was back to or below prepreg weight by the 6wk postpartum checkup. It definitely is taking longer to lose with the twins.

as for the belly.....i'm saving for a tummy tuck

    Ditto!
I'm using the legitimate excuse that it's nearly impossible to get time to exercise.

Wow - so many people are back to their pre-preg weight, or are very close. My story is a little different. I was about 135lbs pre-preg, and I gained about 50lbs during my pregancy (I went right to 38wks and ended up having 13lbs of baby come out). The first 25lbs came off within the first 2wks or so, and then another 10lbs came off within the first month. But, unfortunately I still have that last 10-15lbs to go (so I am presently around 145-150lbs depending on the day!). My kids are nearly 3yrs old, so I have no more excuses (other than still feeling exhausted most days), but I do plan to work hard with diet and excercise and get that last 10lbs or so off this year.

I have 25 pounds to go still.... I think it is from not eating real well... don't have time so I just eat something. But on Monday, we are going start to lose the baby weight. We as in DH and I. He put on 15 pounds with me :) I can't believe how many of you were pre preg by 1 month... HOW??????? I am nursing and pumping several times a day. I was hoping to be pre preg by my 6 week dr visit, but not looking so good.

I only put on around 20lbs - lot less than my singleton pregnancies!!!!!!!!!!!
Prob cause I felt so sick and was walking backwards and forwards to the bathroom so much!

Anyway I seemed to drop most of that quickly but I was overweight by 20 lbs to start with and so I still have a way to go.
My main prob is finding time ALONE to exercise, and get my head right to adjust my portion sizes.

I am still breastfeeding but unfortunately it hasn't helped as much as what it should! (My fault again with portion sizes).

I have a huge apron that stops me from getting into alot of my pre preg clothes and c/scar still hasn't healed right. I find that if I don't eat right for a few days, My belly gets bloated so I look like I'm 6 months gone again.

Jealousy is hard too. I often see friends or neighbours going out for their 'me' time each afternoon to go for a walk. Most days it's near impossible for me to het out and do the same. Aas pp said inanother thread - a prisioner to the routine! :drown:
