My ds has a great apetite in the morning...that's it! He has milk, eggos, ceral with milk, fruit... in the morning almost anything goes...
then it goes down hill from there... for lunch he might eat if I make him pasta...if not is a fruit and drinkable yougourt.
In the afternoon after nap he has a fruit snack..grapes... and then dinner lately is just milk. I put the plate on the table
and he brings it to me and says "not this, not this"....I don't think that is enough food for the day...
I would understand him not beeing hungry if he snacked all day long, but he really doesn't.
he was on the 30% tile before.
Do you recommend supplement with pedisure?
Forget eating veggies... I'm happy he loves fruit...
and I think he is to young to send him to bed without milk (he only gets in the morning and at night)...
    is it just a face?...
and he rans nonstop all day long so he burns everything he eats (I'm jealous!)
    suggestions???

I think it is just the age. Mine are similar and about 8 months older that your twins. I am happy if they eat 1 good meal a day. From what my pediatrician says and from what I've read, you should look at their week's meals and aim to make to make it well-balanced over the course of the week. If he's eating great at breakfast, try to add some variety to breakfast and hit all of those food groups during that morning time. Have you read Jessica Seinfeld's book "Deceptively Delicious"? I haven't read it yet, but I borrowed it from a friend to see if I want to buy it. It has some great recipes and ideas to hide nutritional things like pureed carrots and other veggies in things like pancakes, muffins, brownies, etc.

    Hang in there!

I genuinely believe that kids know what they need. If he's hungry, he will eat. Just keep offering him healthy alternatives, particularly at times he does eat. I think pushing calories can backfire.

Yeah, I agree. If you push Pediasure and other high calorie drinks, for example, his hunger will be satisfied and he'll be less interested in food. Kind of a vicious cycle. Just keep offering - and really up the nutritional content of the morning meal since he seems most likely to eat then! :)

I wouldn't sweat it. My little guy goes through spells of not wanting to eat. Some weeks I feel he eats about one good meal a day and then other weeks he probably eats more than me. The one thing I noticed with my two is they eat much better when we all sit down and eat together. I formed this habit about six months ago when they began eating at the table with us, and instantly they took a much greater interest in food. I guess they liked to see us all eating the same food at the same time. Whatever it is, it's something that I thoroughly enjoy and our meals together are the favourite part of my day. I never try to make them eat food, even when they have barely eaten anything in a day. I figure children, when offered good, nutritious food consistently, will not starve themselves.I also figure I have many more important battles I should be fighting...
