The girls are over 4mos (5mos on the 2nd) and the pedi gave the go ahead for solids. I have tried some rice and oatmeal (doing the 3days thing) and a little applesauce. Allie is ready and Maddie not so much. But I know I should start a schedule with them. This week is perfect to start a real schedule since DS is on Christmas break for two weeks. I just don't know if I have it in me to start yet. I know I should do it. The pedi did say I could wait for closer to 6mos if I wanted but Allie is ready and I feel bad cheating her. I bought some avacados to make some puree. I guess I will do that tomorrow and try it tomorrow night. Anyone else feel this way. I know I've posted about this before. I just thought I was ready. I got myself excited by buying some stage one foods and now they sit. lol

I started with my twins at 6 months and with Evan at 7 months. They were probably 'ready' earlier, but they certainly didn't 'need' it earlier. To me it was just something else to do in my already busy day. Just because one starts, doesn't mean the other needs to as well. They are two individuals. Good luck!

We waited until 6 months. We tried starting at 4 and 5 months, and Gabriel just wasn't ready. He would eat and liked it, but his digestive system didn't handle it well. For my own sanity, I decided just to wait for both of them. As a PP said, they don't NEED solids at this point, so I didn't feel bad holding Michael off until Gabriel was ready. I felt it would be way too confusing to have them trying different foods at different times.

i waited till the girls were almost 7 months old. like Jackie, it was just one more thing to my day & since it wasn't needed, postponed it got. it won't harm them to hold off for now & if it makes your day a bit easier that's only a positive thing! :good:

Thanks ladies! It's nice to hear others held off. I think I am going to wait. I guess I just thought this time would be easier since we're home but really with Christmas being less than a week away it's really NOT easier. I might push back solids another month.

Yeah, I was excited about solids as a first time mom so I started them at 5 months. They weren't ready and I was so disappointed.. but looking back I wonder why I wanted to rush it? All that mess and cleaning  I did enjoy the solids when they were both ready for it at 6 months though, it was a blast watching them try all kinds of new foods.

oh my, its so much work! I waited until Christmas for my duo... they were almost 8 months! It was way easier to breastfeed than bother with bowls, spoons and the mess! anyway, by the time we started they loved it! and gobbled it all down.

I loved wholesomebabyfood if you need any resources.

Ahhh yes the mess! I was so excited to start solids with my first. Well even my second and third. But the thrill quickly wears off when there is more dishes. At least for me it does. Plus lugging solids to feed while you're out. UGH! More work.

I love the wholesomebabyfood site. I was just reading about avacados on there tonight.
