This is my third attempt to post the birth announcement of my beautiful girls #4 & #5... I keep messing it up :aggressive:

So here it is (hopefully this one will post ...)

On Nov 22 (35 weeks) I saw my OB in the morning and I was 3 cm dilated. It was agreed that I would go the following morning for induction as my docs really wanted to make sure that I would be in the hospital once the real thing would come. But that whole day I was having contractions and around 7 pm I told my DH that it would be good to head towards the hospital just in case, we arrived at around 7:30 and I was admitted right away to L&D. A resident checked me and I was 5 cm so as my ob was not on call that night they decided to just leave me alone and see how things would progress. I spent the night listening to my Hypnobabies tracks and it helped me be completely relaxed and sleep through my contractions :)

At 9:15 the following morning, my OB came and checked me, I was 7 cm that's when he decided to break my bag of water to get things moving and they did, 20 min later I told my DH to call the doc, I was ready to push! So doc came in and checked me and said:"Well that's what a perfect patient would tell you, she is complete and station 2" but they wanted to transfer me to the OR just in case baby B would stay breech... So I had to hold my pushing until we were in the room. At 9:55 I started to push and at 10:00 Alexandra was born (Baby A) and at 10:03 Sophia followed, head first just like I visualized her doing :)

I had the most amazing birth experience, my contractions never felt painful, they were just pressure even during transition, I was still smiling in between contractions. Hypnobabies is truly amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a drug free birth. It was a first for a lot of the medical staff in that OR room, most of them never had a vaginal twin birth (of both babies) and without epidural, they first thought I was crazy to even try...

But I am here to say it is possible and it is wonderful!

My girls were born at 35 weeks and 1 day and were wide awake coming out, both had an apgar score of 9/9 and they weighed 4lbs 5oz and were 16.5 inches long. They had to stay 6 days in NICU just to regulate their temperature but were able to breathe and eat without problems, we are home and they are growing well! I'm just very tired which is normal when you have to take care of two little ones at once... See you on the first year forum!

Thank you to all of you for your support and encouragements during the nerve racking time of the pregnancy!!!

This is so encouraging! Thank you so much for posting this - I could hug you! Today I actually spoke with a good friend, an anesthesiologist who will be attending our birth. He assured me that he agreed I should try for a natural, drug-free birth. His suggestion was that I allow him to place a "dry cath" for an epidural, only if I were to need it for emergency c-section if either twin were distressed. This is the first time I had heard of that as a possibility and I was so excited. Now, to hear of your success ... since I've had two natural drug free births (many years ago), I had so hoped, but really thought it was impossible. Again, I really appreciate you posting your story. Makes me smile!

Actually Trish, Hypnobirthing and Hypnobabies are a little bit different. If I'm not mistaking you need a partner for hypnobirthing whereas for Hypnobabies, you can do it on your own, it is really self-hypnosis, truly awesome!

I wish that too Nikki but unfortunately there's no hypnobabies script for the 1st year LOL

I wish I could hypnotize the girls so they would sleep like 6 hours straight... not happening anytime soon... I'm in robot mode right now, YKWIM

Isn't it amazing!! I did not do Hypnobirthing but I have heard great things about it too! It makes me want to have another child... Please slap me on the face, so I can wake up and not think about babies anymore LOL but this birth was so amazing that I am not afraid of birthing anymore :)

I didn't realize there was a difference, sorry! The partner is optional in Hyponobirthing...my husband napped though a good portion of my labour, lol!
