I get to brave the cold and snow today to go to the doctor and beg for him to do something about my incessant nausea and vomiting. It's the first time I'm seeing the actual doctor. Though, I'm changing doctors and going to another apt on Thursday of this week with her.

I see my OB for my 30 week appt on Wed... Sucks b/c my ultrasound isn't until Friday so we won't have too much to talk about lol. Then I have to wait another 2 weeks to see him again, to get the results!!! Boo! (But our tech's are pretty good and tell you how much they weigh and that everything looks ok)

I have an appointment with the specialist on Thursday, first one! A bit nervous, don't know what to expect. :-/

I have another doctor apt in Lansing on Thursday. I think I'll be switching to this practice as they deliver at a hospital with a NICU. I didn't actually even get to see the doctor at my apt on Monday and I was really irritated about that since I specifically rescheduled so I could see him. Anyhow, hopefully Thursdays apt will go well and I'll like this practice. I'm also planning to ask if they'd give me a referral to have a consultation with a certain high risk doctor.

I have an ultrasound Thursday morning... and I'm trying to convince myself not to get my hopes up that one of the babies is actually a boy. The angles weren't proper for gender determination but they still looked like girls, and I'll be happy with girls... was just hoping for at least one boy.

Sara, good luck tmrw at your u/s!!!

AFM - I had my 30.5 week appt today --- found out I am now 2cm dilated :( Cervix is 1cm and membranes felt. Baby A is head down and engaged (thank goodness head down as she was breech throughout!)
2 weeks ago my cervix was a steady 3.6cm and I was closed. Now I am 2cm :( My dr said no more walking and to take it easy. Ya, that's a bit hard with a toddler under 2 ~!!!
Just want to make it through xmas and hoping I can hang on for another 3.5 weeks --to 34 wks pg... as that is when I don't have to be automatically transferred to a high risk hospital which is 1.5 hours away.

So now I start NST weekly, biphysical profiles every 2 weeks, and routine u/s every 2 weeks too. Lots of driving for me - so dont know how I am supposed to be "resting" during all those appts!!! LOL It is half hour drive there and half hour back each time!!!

Definitely two girls! They were 13 and 14 ounces each and Ariel was kicking Hope in the head. Hope is transverse across my ribs and has been at least for 2 or 3 weeks. Ariel is head down.

    Hey Trisha -

I'm from Lansing! I grew up in Holt and only left after graduating from MSU/being laid off (a MI tradition).

    Where are you specifically?

Had my appointment at the perinatologist (sp?) today. We found out that originally it was triplets, and that that baby died at the very beginning of the pregnancy. However on a positive note, we found out we are having identical twins! We were shocked, as my original doctor thought they had two placentas. Now the only concern is TTTS, so they are going to do ultrasounds every 2 weeks from now until they are born to monitor. We are looking forward to all of the pictures and hope for the best! :)

OH wow!!! How can they tell? That's amazing they can find out things like that. How amazing is technology? But so sorry to hear that you lost one :( If they are ID twins, I'm confused as how they could have been trips , as trips are not ID? And they all would have been in the same sac? Or am I wrong?? lol

But ID twins!!! omg!! I bet you can not wait to find out the gender now!!!! :D

Yippie!!! That's how my twins are presenting too right now - baby a head down, and baby b is transvere with his spine to my ribs!

I'm in Owosso and live right across the street from the hospital, so it's kinda funny going to Lansing for this pregnancy! I got my MA at MSU. It looks like you live in CO now, so a much nicer area than Mid-Michigan :)

My second doctor apt of the week went GREAT. I'm deffinately switching for good. Unlike the other doctor, she was quite concerned that I haven't been able to keep any food down in weeks. She said I need to be keeping food and vitamins down. She gave me a copy of Dr. Luke's book and told me to pay particular attention to the chapters on nutrition. I came with a list of questions and she answered almost all of them before I could ask them. She seemed very knowledgeable about twin pregnancies. She has also set up for home health to come in TONIGHT to my house to get me hooked up to a zofran pump and also an IV for hydration. The hope is the zofran pump will start working so I don't need the IV for long. Anyhow, great apt today!

The triplet was probably a fraternal baby. ID triplets are really rare- more common are fraternal twins and one of the twins splits another time creating triplets and within that set, ID twins.

BTW- mommy to be x2- I'm sorry for your loss and hope the remainder of your pregnancy is uneventful.

Thanks everyone. While we are a bit upset about the 3rd baby, since we didn't ever know it was there, it makes it a lot easier. We are very excited about our identical twins being very healthy! They are now only measuring 2 days apart, compared to 3 2.5weeks ago, and had strong heartbeats - 165 and 161. Baby B was moving around a lot so that was a lot of fun to see and watch :)

Now for even more excitement, my fiancée and I moved our wedding date up to Dec. 23, so that we can enjoy some married life before the babies come. I am so excited!
