Hi - everyone's feedback and advice is great and you definitely should be checking to see if your baby has any medical issues causing this. My twins were 7 weeks preemie and had much the same problems as you are going through and in the end I believe that it really was that their digestive systems just weren't mature yet. By 3 months all these problems seemed to go away. I know that seems like an extremely long time when you are in this situation but it really, really does get easier. I hardly got any sleep in the first 3 months and didn't think I would make it, but you will! One thing I did was to strap my fussy baby into a baby bjorn and just wear her everywhere and she slept that way in the daytime - no worries on creating bad habits this young. Also, I found my kids slept soundly for hours on end when I put them together in a big pillow thing with a blanket over them. Just being right next to each other helped. You have to be awake to watch them that way but at least they get some good sleep!

Thanks...I did find something that stated that green diarrhea was a sign of milk intolerance. Addyson who is the one who has the green diarrhea is not as fussy as her sister...she usually eats, sleeps and fusses only when she has a b.m. But maybe we should look into it just in case it becomes more of a problem as she gets older.
My other daughter Kaylyn we put on soy with tummy sensitivity because she was miserable...fussy all the time. Her tummy has gotten better since then and she has normal looking b.m.'s. Yet, it hasn't stopped her fussiness, so I might look into her trying the alimentum/nutramigen. Appreciate the tip!

We are going to call a specialist tomorrow to make sure we check into the medical issues. I agree that maybe their digestive systems are trying to catch up since they were born so early.
I'm not sure how you get your twins to sleep nicely next to each other? My girls always seem to wake each other up. Even when I think they are sound asleep! If one starts crying, the other one does too. Addyson cries a lot during her sleep (she literally will cry and still be asleep) and ends up waking Kaylyn. And once Kaylyn is woken up when she doesn't want to be...she has a fit. :grr:

I do have a baby bjorn...haven't used it yet. Might have to give it a shot. Thanks for all your help!

Green, runny b.m was one of the major signs for our boys of dairy intolerance. The nutramigen made the difference for us (plus prevacid for reflux). You may need a combination of things like that to really sort things out. The soy might help, but if she's got reflux, it won't solve the whole issue. Nutramigen is very expensive (and so is alimetrium, I think), so before switching to that, I would probably try some reflux meds.
