My appointment didn't go well yesterday. Not only was my BP even higher I have a lot of protein in my urine. I was air lifted to the closest level 3 NICU which is 3 1/2 hrs away from my husband and 3yr old. After being on MAG all night and BP meds the contractions stopped, only changed cervix a little(I am 50% effaced, -3 and 1cm. now the goal is to keep me stable. I was moved from L&D to the High Risk floor and will be here in the hospital until these babies are born. I've had 2 doses of steroids for their lungs and the ultrasound this afternoon showed that baby A is weighing 3#1oz and Baby B is 2# 10oz. please pray that things stay stable and these girl get more time to grow before they are born. I know I am in the best place I can be, just having a hard time being so far away from the 2 guys in my life and here all alone.

 I'm so sorry! It has to be the toughest thing leaving your little guy and DH at home! I'll be praying those babes bake a little longer and I'm glad you are in a safe place in case they decide to come out and play early! Good luck! Please KUP!

I'm praying for you right now, that my heavenly Father will give you peace and comfort in the situation and will send his angels to guard over you and the babies. I ask that our Lord Jesus will intervene on your behalf and help these sweet babies stay inside, to continue growing. In His grip, Michele

That is a very hard place to be. I was only 20 min away when I was in the hospital and that was hard I can not imagine being so far away. Know you are being well cared for and many prayers for you. You are doing a great job!

Thank You ladies! I am just overwhelemed with emotions right now. Prayers are all I can ask for that these babies get to stay in longer and that my husband finds peace. He is such a calm person and i can see the fear and unknown in his eyes, but he's being strong for me and our son. I will keep everyone posted on our progress.

thank you again for the kind words and prayers!

So sorry to hear this aquickworld. I had my fingers crossed for you. I really hope your body can hang in there even for another 4 weeks so babies can grow 1 more month and get up to 4lbs or so! I am so sorry you have to be so far away from your family... that must be SO difficult. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

p.s. Are you girls ID twins?

Thanks! We will be very happy with another 4-6 weeks of growth. They are almost positive that they will be Fraternal but won't know for sure until after birth.

My smallest twin was 2lbs 13oz. It's a hard road and she has some health issues but they made it thru. I spent 2 weeks total in the hospital while I was pregnant. Hopefully everything goes smoothly. Every day more is less time in the nicu.

A lot of girls around here have gone through the same thing, me included. Mag is terrible and I wouldn't wish that medicine on anyone, but it does help a lot. Bed rest is so hard but it is completely survivable! :) Despite our physically misery and worries, time continues to pass even when we feel like it is standing still.

We are all praying for your little babies to hang in there as long as possible!

Ohhh...so are they di/di then with their own placentas? If so, for sure could still be ID... Just wondering what type they were b/c I know that impacts dr's decisions... esp with ID twins the risk is higher for soo many things, so they probably won't stop labor after a certain point...

    How are you feeling now?

 So sorry you are going through this. It is so hard being in the hospital until the babies are born, I was there too. I wanted to let you know that even if they are born early, it is amazing what can be done with preemies these days. There are so many of us, including myself, who have had preemies and they are doing very well!

My DD was only 1 lb 10 oz when she was born (at 25w3d) and she does not have any health problems at all, she will be 5 in Feb. and you would never know she was a micro-preemie. Actually both my twins are doing totally fine. :good: You can see them in my avatar. :)

The steroid shots will help and if they are born early, the success rates are good. :good: Hang in there.

Thank you! I think it's harder with the holidays near and knowing I will be here away from my hubby and son. The hospital I'm in is the top in the state so I feel very comfortable and safe here.

Thank You all for the encouraging words. Babies are doign well and growing good. They both showed practice breathing during ultrasound yesterday so the docs are very happy. So far all the meds are working and my BP is stable even thought still high. They are going to re check the 24hr urine soon to see how the protein levels are. I am on so many meds I feel like a walking Pharmacy :)

I will keep everyone posted on how things are going.

    Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

A little update: Girls are doing great, baby A has shown a few heart decels during the NSTs but the dr's aren't concerned. I did another 24hr urine and am awaiting the results. Thye drew repeat labs this am to re check my iron levels and I am still very very anemic. I have been on iron supplement 3 times a day for a week and would have thought they would be up just a bit. They have meentioned a few times about giving me an iron transfusion since I will loose a lot of blood during delivery. Has anyone else had this problem? We met with the NICU Dr's and took a tour of the NICU. If we can get to 34-35wks them we might not have much of a NICU stay.

Thank you for all the kind words and prayers they sure do mean the world to us!

I was on every drug around during the last part of my pregnancy. It wasn't fun but it was worth keeping them in longer. I'm sorry you have to be so far away from home right now. Hugs, Beth

So results from the 24hr urine came back and the protein levels didn't change much which is a good thing. All my other labs are ok except for my iron/platelet levels. Even after being on iron supplements 3 times a day for the past 10 days my levels actually dropped 1 point so my Perinatalogist has consulted with a Hematologist. It looks like they will have to do an iron/platelet transfusion to try and get my supply back up otherwise they said I will have major issues after delivery and it would take me atleast 2yrs to recover. I don't know why my OB didn't catch this sooner so I wouldn't be in this position now. Hopefully these new Dr's will be able to build my supply before these girls arrive.

What an ordeal! But, all you can do is just focus on the days ahead and get the care you need. I am glad that the babies are doing well, and I hope you get the iron situation sorted out right away too. Hang in there! :youcandoit:
