Need an affordable double umbrella stroller

My 9mo. old twin boys are growing out of their Snap-n-Go carseats which means I won't be able to carry them easily in and out of daycare, stores, etc. I'm looking for an affordable umbrella stroller that I can easily pop in and out of my minivan for these short trips (and the occasional walk - but I'll probably continue to use my Duo-Glider for that). So far I've come across the Dream on Me strollers, Delta DX, and Jeep (although I suspect these don't have a 5pt harness). I usually like to read product reviews before purchasing but it seems that not many people are reviewing these on the sites that I've checked. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Melissa

Jeep does not have a 5 point harness. I played with it at BRU and it was a pain to open and close.

I love my Combi. The downside is that it has no real usable storage space, but it folds up nicely and is fairly light. It is perfect for stores.

Now....how I get mine into preschool. DS (the wigglier one) goes in an Ergo carrier on my front. I sling on a backpack or shoulder bag with their stuff and carry DD in my arms. It is so easy.

Interesting suggestion. I'll definately look into that. Thanks!

As far as storage space, I'm not too concerned about it as this stoller will mostly be used for quick trips. If anything, I could hang the daiper bag on the back or buy one of those caddies.

I have the Jeep SBS. In fact, I had one and gave it away, then went and bought another one that we still use. It's really not that hard to open or close once you've done it a few times, it's undo the red clip on the side, then pull on the handles to separate the seats, step down on the bars under the seats until they latch closed. To fold up, push the lever with your shoe until the bars unlatch, then push the handles together and clip closed. It does not have a 5 point harness, but that was never an issue for my two. As for affordability we bought one new and it was $90. We bought one used for $30.

When A&R had outgrown their infant carriers at 7 months, we had to figure out how to carry them both at the same time for things like groceries or other quick shopping trips. I would just wear a backpack and carry one on one hip, and one on the other and hope that someone would hold the door for me, or I would use the Jeep stroller.

    Me strong like Hulk!

I was trying to do the Hercules and the calf thingy (if I constantly lift when it's a baby, when it becomes a full size cow, I can still lift it!). I can still carry both of them at the same time, but not up the stairs which is when they want to be carried, and not for longer than a few minutes. It also makes carrying groceries up several flights of stairs a lot easier.

I know! I used to whine about having to lift the stroller in and out of the car in the early days, but now it feels super light. And groceries? No problem at all. If I had another set of hands to do stuff I wouldn't need a stroller at all!

I have the jeep wrangler double umbrealla and love it. The sun shades aren't worth putting on though. They do nothing for shade. But it's light, easy to open and close (I think). Though it doesn't have the five point harness it seems ok. My twins are 5minths and it's the only stroller I've used. They hate their car seats so the snap and go was not an option. I actually think it's the 5pt harness they hate.

I LOVE my Jeep. My twinkettes (8 mos.) love it too. So far, the lack of 5-point harness hasn't been an issue for us. I got one without the canopy covers, and in Arizona we desperately need shade, but that's the only draw back I can see.

I bought an Inglesina side by side double stroller a couple of weeks ago on Craigslist for $100. I'm in love with it. The stroller fold up compact like a regular umbrella stroller and has baskets under each seat. There is no parents tray of cup/snack holders for the twins, but I made straps out of elastic to hook the cups on the stroller.

We bought two cheap umbrellas and stroller connector to put them together. Worked great for out trip to Disney and gave us lots of flexibility to separate or join.

When I was looking for a smaller stroller I thought of doing this, but online it looked really big when you put them both together, so I didn't know if it would fit through a standard doorway. Does it?

Probably not most, but it's very easy to pop apart. The only doors we didn't fit through at Disney were the entrance turnstiles--the handicap accessible/stoller gates were usually a smudge too narrow.
