Ok I HAVE to get out more often. I get out more often than some but I never have done it with the kids. I know many people
have asked the question about how to do it. I just have a small problem. I not only have my twins (3m) but my one year old (15m). How would I do this without help? I don't have a triple stroller and refuse to buy on (to expensive). I have gone for walks around the neighborhood with the babies in the stroller and the older in her wagon buy I can't do that in target or wal-mart or the mall!! Any ideas from those with twins and a toddler!?!?!?

wow... I give you credit for even wanting to leave the house. All I can think of is an infant in a baby bjorn on your chest, and the toddler and infant in a double stroller...
I know there are double infant carriers, we never used one, but the logistics of lifting and controlling the toddler would be hindered if you had two baby strapped to your chest :)

    good luck!

I was reversed... I had the twins, and then at 19 months I had Annabella. I was not about to buy a triple stroller, that's for sure! So what I did is what pp suggested. If I had to go out, I wore the baby in the baby bjorn. I put the twins in the double stroller. As she got older/bigger, I would put her in the stroller, and one of the boys. The other would walk. And shortly after turning two, I ditched the double stroller all together, got a single stroller, and the boys have been walking since! So maybe when you go out, start working towards having your 15 month old walk(not necessarily now, but as the months progress). Now my boys are relatively awesome when we go to the mall, etc.

You will find away-and you will do it! Go out and enjoy! :)

You could also do both babies in the stroller and the toddler in the shopping cart. Push the stroller with one hand, pull the shopping cart with the other.

I agree with the PP...one of the babies in a carrier and your toddler and the other baby in the stroller but that depends on the type of stroller you're using.

My toddler is older but with the type of stroller I have (Double Baby Jogger) he can sit on the foot rest in front and the girls sit in the seats. This is how I get around with all 3 of them. For the first few months I had the girls in the double snap and go and DS would walk beside and hold on to the stroller but 15 months is most likely WAY too young to do this. I also used a leash for DS when the babies were really small and I had to go somewhere I couldn't use the stroller. I would carry both infant seats and hold onto the leash in one of my hands, not ideal but at least I knew he couldn't dart into traffic :)

I remember being at the doctors office once when they girls were about 2 months old and DS was having a BAD day. I was struggling trying to carry both infant seats and get my screaming toddler out the door by dragging him on the leash...someone asked my why on earth I would go out with all 3 of them...seriously!?!?! Thankfully instead of just staring or trying to ignore me like everyone else was doing one lady offered to help me get to my car...I have become eternally grateful for the help of strangers since I now have more kids than hands :)

So while we are on this topic - which is the easiest infant carrier / baby bjorn type carrier to use? We have infantino ones I used exactly once. It was complicated to get the baby into, and I'm not sure I strapped her in right, the back straps rode way up on my back & it was very uncomfortable.

I also have an "ample bossom" so not sure if that would be a factor?

The ergo is super comfortable...takes a little getting used to to learn how to load baby in.

When the twins were born my oldest was just 2. What I did was put the twins in the back reclining seat of the duoglidder (I no longer have this stroller mind you) and Donevan in the front seat. I figured they spent 9 months together so they were used to being squished anyway. I did that until they were about 4 months old. When we went to stores and I used the snap and Go, I used a harness for my oldest. Good luck

Slipper: Would you mind elaborating on how you got them into one seat?

Not in one car seat. Right in the stroller in the back seat. I'll see if I have a pic.

Here is a pic. I dont know if you can really see them, but they were both in the back seat in the duoglidder. This was also winter so they had on all sorts of winter stuff.

    Slipper, that's awesome!

Our stroller has an attachment for an infant carrier- it's the Kolcraft Contours. 1 would go in the stroller in the infant seat, 3 year old would walk & I'd carry in a sling or carrier the other baby. I wouldn't mind swapping out who strolls or is carried, either. It's tough but I do commend you for getting out. :)

I would put my then 2 yr old in the front. Now that the boys are almost a yr and my oldest is pretty much 3, he walks or I use the harness. I no longer have the duoglidder though. I have a baby trend SBS jogger

I don't have time to read all the responses, so hopefully I'm not sounding like broken record. But my guy was 16 months old when the twins were born and I would wear a twin and put a twin and my toddler in the stroller. The other day I got slung my toddler and it wasn't as heavy as I expected and he enjoyed it actually.

Thanks for all the ideas! I'm going to try it out soon. I know I will hear all sorts of comments about having my hands full (eye roll) and all, we twin mommies are all used to it, but I just have to get out. I'm going stir crazy. When I do, I will let you all know how it goes.
