The hubby and I took all the kids and went out to dinner the other night. Depending on the restaurant we just use the double snap & go because it's about the same size as two slings anyway. So we go in and are seated. The owner being completely serious asked if the girls were twins. They were in the double snap & go - in infant seats, are the same size give or take a pound, and in matching outfits. I really just wanted to say no but didn't have the nerve. Then as were leaving he says "oh they're both girls?" They were in matching PINK outfits with pink blankets. Later DH and I had a good laugh about it. I know usually are they twins is a convo starter but he was being completely serious!

I would have said no. When the boys were about 9 months old, I took them into my fathers office. He works for the RCMP which is Royal Canadian Mounted Police. As we were leaving a RCMP Officer says to me, who tell me they aren't twins, so I said, "They aren't twins" He looked at me completely confused, and says, "But they ARE twins right?" Way to make me confident in our police officers.

hahaha I love it. I think I'm going to start saying "no, they're thirteen minutes apart"

People ask me that all the time with my girls...I should start saying no too...I would love to see how people would react then!

I might have to try the, "No they are two minutes apart line." I usually get sweet old women asking if the boys are twins. And I always get, "But they are fraternal. He's a little taller."

haha. I have gotten "They can't possibly be twins, one is bigger!" A few times. No they aren't twins, I just carried 2 babies for 9 months, and gave birth to two babies.

My niece told me to say "no, the other kid just won't grow."

A know a lot of times - especially old ladies - it's a total conversation starter. When you have someone that asks you and is being completely serious I almost think they deserve a snarky response. I mean come on how could they NOT be twins! I am going out tomorrow. I think I will count the number of comments I get.
