So, my little girls know how to undress themselves and remove their diapers - I know they are getting close to potty training. But, this morning, I found them both naked in their cribs and had wet too - thankfully no poo (went through that with DS and don't want to go through that again!)!! Just now, I went in their room to check on them b/c they were giggling instead of sleeping (they've been doing this for about a week too - not sleeping at first, just jabbering to each other for at least 45 mins). Well, I found them both stark naked!!! I scolded them, put on fresh diapers, a onsie, and then their footed pjs. I thought the onsie might prevent a diaper removal during the night. I certainly don't want to be washing all their bedding every day! Any advice? Been there before? What helped?

    Thanks!!! :)

I have so been there, done that!! At that age Duct tape was my best friend to keep their diapers on. It worked for quite a while actually. I wish I could say that my girls have outgrown their nudist streak, but at 3 they are still constantly stripping down! It is seriously a task to keep clothes on my children, but thankfully that battle only happens at home! Good Luck!

I was going to suggest duct tape too ;) We threatened my dd with that when she started stripping at night, and fortunately that was enough to stop her from doing it. You can also cut the feet off their footie jammies and turn them around backwards so the zipper is in the back and they can't reach it as easy :)

Sleepsacks (if they don't know how to zip) or pajamas put on backwards. Mine are now adept at diaper removal, so we have to keep clothes on all the time (although I did find DD with her little arm out of her t-shirt).

yep!! you don't have to cut the feet out of the PJs, just put them on backwards, the feet flip and twist at the ankles. you can also put sleep sacks on backwards... in fact that's how ours will put them on voluntarily now at 2.5 yrs!

Mine can now get out of anything. Including snaps. :headbang: We just started using duct tape over the top of the zipper. It has worked for two nights...wahoo!

They now have pajamas that zip up the back so they cant get out of them. http://coolbabykid.com/2009/03/mookimoo-sleepwear-no-more-naked-diaperless-toddlers.html
    Hope this helps!!

Let me just confirm. Duct tape over the top of the zipper has kept our kids clothes on for 3 successful nights and counting. It has not hurt their pajamas and they love when we put it on. They haven't even complained - WEIRD! Thanks for the suggestion PP!

Thanks!!! I'm going to try the duct tape. I safety pinned the zipper to the little tab that covers the zipper and that has worked for about a week .... but yesterday morning Alyse had unfastened the safety pin!!! I was so scared that she had injured herself that I couldn't scold her for being naked! She had a dirty diaper, thankfully didn't play in it...it was still a mess! I won't be using safety pins any more!!! If the neck is even a little big in the PJs, my natalie will wiggle out of them somehow and I'll find them full zipped and fastened in the floor!

If the duct tape doesn't work, I'll cut the feet off the pjs and turn them around backwards!
