Hello ladies. Not too sure how this forum works so I'm just gonna try to figure it out. We just found out last week that we are pregnant with Twins. Oh my gosh I think I'm still in shock. I am 10 weeks as of yesterday. I had some spotting and that's why I had to going for a sonogram. But now that I found out its twins I feel like it's unreal and i want them more than anything. I also feel like it's unreal still and it will be taken away any minute. I'm just trying to get over the first trimester and I think my nerves will calm down. I also have a 4 year old and this pregnancy is way different. Lots of sickness and the spotting which made me so nervous. I have been looking through the forum the last couple days and there is so much helpful information I'm very happy to have been referred to this site.
I know it's super scary, especially went the thought of twins (or more) NEVER crossed your mind...but CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm not going to lie, it's probably going to be hard but in the end it's soooo worth it, most days..lol I found out at 9 weeks. I am not good at remembering when my period comes since it's not like clockwork so I had the ultrasound at the first OB appointment to verify the age of the fetus and when the sonographer started and their were TWO fetuses in there my husband said "Are we seeing a mirror image on the baby?" and the sonographer said "It's twins"...my immediate reaction was, "I KNEW it!". By 9 weeks I had already gained about 4lbs and had been seeing a lot of twins on those "A Baby Story" show on TLC and just thought that I might be pregnant with twins and sure enough, we were! Welcome to TS. I'm sure you'll meet some really wonderful women that will become great, loving, life long friends. I know I did
The dr couldn't find any active bleeding so that was a good sign. But on wednesday I had what would have been my first dr apt. But he did tell me I will have some light spotting from that exam. And indid but not a lot and then yesterday I had some brown stuff. Do you think that could be old blood from the exam? I'm really trying to stay in tune with my body this time. My son was born a month early do to pre e so I want to make sure I can go as far as I can with these babies and it's a little more nerve racking knowing it's twins.
Congrats!! We were shocked as well. We miscarried last year so my Ob scheduled an ultrasound when I would have been 6 weeks so we could see heartbeat. The sonographer was asking me things like when my last period was and if I was seeing my Dr after and we saw an empty sac... my heart sank. I asked if everything was ok and she said yes, you are having twins. We both laughed and cried. This makes #7 and 8! I had bleeding 2 days later and freaked out. Turned out to be a sub chorionic hemorrhage and had an u/s this time saw both babies and heard the heartbeats. The brown you are describing is old blood and will just go away. Call your Dr, right away if you have cramping or bright red blood. Best of luck!!!
Thanks ladies for the warm welcomes. It's very comforting knowing other moms are put there. In almost the same situations
Yeah, brown blood is old blood most likely from the exam. I had bleeding for a while every time I had an u/s. Finally the nice old tech said that it was really common and showed me blood on the wand. She said that some women bleed every time and it's b/c the tissues down there are a bit irritated. Makes sense, given the wand .
Congratulations and welcome to TS! You have come to the right place! The women on here are extremly wonderful and full of advice and encouragement! I had spotting during my first trimester and thought that the fear would never go away. My best advice, is not to google anything about complications becuase they may never occur and there is no point in stressing over something that may never happen!
COngrats and welcome to TS! I had spotting as well and went in for an ultrasound at 9 weeks, where I found out it was twins.
Congrats! I too have a four year old and found out at ten wks that we were expecting twins...it is overwhelming! Glad you made it over here! Congrats!
Congratulations on your twin pregnancy!! Just wanted to share another story about spotting that turned out okay: I had spotting at about 6weeks, was told it was normal around that time for it to happen. Didn't know it was twins at that point. At 15.5weeks I woke one night with VERY heavy bleeding..like more than a period. It was very scary. We thought for sure we had lost our baby. Went into the ER and found a heartbeat, and our first sonogram later that day showed twins!!!! My first question was if both were still alive! They were, thankfully, but the bleeding was never explained to me. I continued to bleed well past my 20th week, although not as heavily as those first few days at 15weeks. It just seemed wrong to be bleeding during pregnancy, so it kept me on edge the whole time. But it all worked out in the end! Like a pp has said, cramping and bright red blood are more of a concern. Its great that you're already listening to your body...it will soon be telling you to eat, eat, eat!!!!! Welcome to Twinstuff, and feel free to ask away! Melissa
You sound so much like the way I felt when I found out. I had been wanting another baby for quite some time and when I found out I was having twins I was ecstatic and SO afraid that something was going to go wrong. It is stressful (or at least was for me) but try to just enjoy it and not worry too much!! I am also one that bleed well into my second trimester and for no apparent reason. Everything turned out fine for me as well. Congratulations!!
Thank you all so much you have truly helped ease my mind a little. I just had to finally tell myself if it was meant to be its meant to be. I havent had any cramping, I do get this weird feeling in my left lower side like a stomach twitch or slight ache not pain just an anoying, but its almost like when I first felt my son move, Im only 10 weeks, im thinking its not the babies or baby moving, so maybe its my stomach growing. not sure. Im, also having a hard time drinking all the water.. lol...im getting more excited day by day. Thanks again, and im super excited that I found this website.
First of all congrats. I found at 8 weeks. I missed my period but have some serious cramping. So went to the dr. and they told me I am preggo. So the dr. sent me to the ER to get an u/s done to make sure the pregancy is not in the tubes. They did an internal u/s and the dr at the ER told me that I had some internal bleeding and that my babies might not keep. But he say two sacs. I was so scared. So I had to follow up at 10 weeks and they (the twins) progressed they now they are four months old. I hope everything will be okay. :youcandoit:
