My littlest guy is turning one next month and Christmas is soon after. I'm looking to get him a couple of things. What are you little ones favorite things to play with? Sam is very physcial. Love to climb, crawl, and I'm sure he'll be walking soon. I already have a few things from the older kids but didn't know if there was any new stuff out there that was fun. Doesn't have to be elaborate. Usually the simple stuff is more fun but I'd love suggestions! Thanks!

This is what my boys love to play with. They can't seem to get bored of it.

Push to ride toy, my son loved that and I think it helped him to learn to walk. Tickle Me Elmo, Mega Blocks, Tadoodles were also pretty popular too.

For Christmas when my guys were almost 17 months old we had the ILs get a Kangaroo Climber. It took them a few weeks to get comfortable climbing on to it, but they ended up playing on it every single day. We had it in the dining room during the winter, then moved it outside for the summer.

Jack is very physical too, and for most of the last year he's really liked balls that he can kick, ride-on-toys (we have the Little People Race Day Playset Ride-On; they still play with this daily), and his Cozy Coupe.

We also have the laugh and learn home (my kids at 8 and 4 yrs old still play with it some!), and a climber (we had a small-ish one for my oldest son inside, now we have a bigger one outside for all 4 kids), and ride on toys! You can't go wrong with all three of those! You can also look at a ball pit or tent, or a climb through tunnel type thing, most of them are pop up ones that you can easily fold back down :)

My recommendations for first birthday are laugh and learn home, ride on toys (the little people ones are great), mega bloks and little people sets.

My boys turned 1 in late January so for Christmas their grandparents got them a slide from little tikes. One was walking and the other was just crawling (walked at a year). But they both loved it and still do at 21 months. It is played with daily (usually several times a day). We keep it inside in the playroom.

Other than that any push toy is a huge hit.

Thanks for the ideas. Glad to hear the laugh and learn home is still the rage :) I have this from when my twins were babies 5 years ago!!! (I can't believe I've survived). We're missing some of the blocks and the balls are long gone but other than that it's survived to the 4th kiddo :)

I think I'll look for another "crawly" tube someone suggested. Our last one was destroyed by the cat. Let's hope I can keep her away from it.

Ok just a recommendation if you get a play tunnel - don't get one with supports that you have to slide in, then close with a velcro - my kids were playing with the velcro all the time and kept pulling the supports out, and in the end the thing was totally deformed. If you have an ikea near you (or you can try and find it on ebay) they have a play tunnel that is pretty nice.

I found one in great shape at goodwill for $5. It was missing some pieces so I called fisher price and they sent me replacement toys for $10. Totally worth it!
