Hi ladies! hope everyone is well.
I know it is a bit early for me, but I wanted to start researching strollers.
I went to the sore this weekend to try and "test drive", but their selection of doubles was not that great.
So far I have heard that "City Mini Double Strollers" are not bad, any other rec's?
From what I understand a right stroller makes life that much less stressful :)
    Thanks a lot!

I looked at the stroller you mentioned and it is a nice one but DH and I decided we wanted a stroller that would allow the car seat to attach to it and then also serve the twins as they grew and were in it with out the car seat. The City stroller didn't look like you could attach the car seats. For me I just think it is much harder to have to get the babies out of the car seat and into the stroller when I want to go shopping. We went with a Baby Trend Stroller. Not the most expensive but not the cheapest either. There are some cool double strollers out there that we would have loved that would accommodate the twins with or without car seats and a toddler but they were like $800 bucks. Anyway, my 2cents is to get one that you can use with or without the car seats attached! Good Luck... we looked for several months!

Thank you for the suggestion. I did not realize that there are strollers that have both options. I thought it was either or....

I read the additional details and it said it was car seat compatible with an adapter that is sold separately. I don't know how much it would cost, but just know as is it would not fit the 2 car seats if you wanted to go that route. Here is the one we got.

When I was researching I like the double snap n go for the Caesarea and the city mini for later. It's just so easy and lightweight. It seems excessive to get 2, but when I priced that out with the chic double (cumbersome) and the 2 $180 car seats that fit in that the price was actually the same. I'm super in love with the city mini.

The baby trend one that I sent you the link to will grow with them with no further purchases. We have Baby Trend car seats that will fit the stroller and then will use the same stroller later as well. We had a Baby Trend Sit and Stand and we really liked it so we stuck with the brand. For the price it is really good and we did not want to buy 2 strollers.

We also did the Baby Trend stroller but went with the side by side jogger with the larger wheels. My older DD is a softball player and we thought this would be more practical for maneuvering through ball parks as we do year round. It takes 2 infant carriers as well. We ordered a different color scheme through www.onestepahead.com. I did also purchase the Baby Trend Double Snap and Go from Amazon for $85, no sales tax and free shipping, for those trips to the store. EVERYTHING was right around $600 and I can sell the carriers and Snap & Go as soon as the twins are out of their carriers together as a set.

I've heard only great things about the Kolcraft Tandem stroller (the newest model) - here's the link:

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Kolcraft-Contours-Tandem-Stroller-Tangerine/13004573

And it's on rollback right now!!!!

the seats can both go forward, backward, baby seats, etc. So many options!! And it's pretty inexpensive. You can also get the last year's model which is cheaper - for $189 at wal-mart in the States.

ETA: Forgot to mention that we ourselves are just going to get the Baby Trend Double Snap N Go frame for the car seats b/c the twins will be tiny and fit into their infant seats for quite some time I'm sure... And it's only $99

And when the babies are 6 months old and can hold their heads up and what not, then we'll look into buying a double!

We bought the Kolcraft Contours stroller (the older model) and although we had to get it shipped here from the States, it was much much cheaper than comparable alternatives here. It can take one infant seat, and the adaptor to take a second infant seat was $20. Altogether the stroller cost us under $300. I love that it is so adaptable, babies can face forwards, backwards, each other, and it can take two carseats. The babies are not here yet but my hubby and my son have been test driving and it steers really well and it is super easy to collapse.

can you tell us more about where/how you intend to use the stroller and the weather where you live?

I would suggest finding a used Snap n go, because that's what you will probably use in the beginning anyway, and that will give you time to decide if you like the tandem(front and back stroller)

Hi! I live in NYC. planning to use the stroller to go to the doctor (which will require a car ride) and walks. I can order a lot of home stuff from fresh direct, plus I have people who can help, so not planning to go shopping with them yet. Does this help?

I would get a double snap & go for anything involving the car, and a double jogger for walks. We have a Mountain Buggy, which is awesome, but expensive (we got ours used, but they're hard to find). However, there are other options that are cheaper and nearly as good.

For what it's worth, we also have a side-by-side umbrella stroller (Maclaren), and we found it useful for traveling or for those post-newborn times when you need to stick it in the car (which was mostly doctor's appointments and the library). But it's not much good for sidewalks -- you really (IMO) need something with big rubber wheels for city walking.

At any rate, if you have a snap & go, you won't need anything else for the car until at least 6 months -- probably later (whenever one of them outgrows the infant carrier).

OK, I would NOT get a SBS umbrella stroller, like a Combi for city streets. A cheap SBS would be great though for just hopping in the car and going to the doctor.

I think a jogging stroller would be good for you but we don't have one so I can't give you a recommendation. My parents have a place in NYC so we are there a lot and I see a LOT of people with Bugaboos. They are super expensive but I figure if so many people have one, they must be good for the city.

Double snap and gos are long, so check to see if they will fit in your elevator (if you have one) before buying. I think one would fit in my parents' building, but it would be a tight squeeze.

We have the Kolcraft and I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove it! We've just recently supplemented with a double umbrella now that the girls are older for quick trips. But the Kolcraft is awesome! And with the purchase of an extra carseat adapter, you can use it like a snap-and-go for as long as you want.

Love our baby jogger city mini. Easy to fold, light, fits everywhere, stirs easily on any surface, and there is a separation between the seats so the kids can't pester each other. You just need to buy a cupholder or a hook you can snap on the handle for yourself.

We used a snap'n go first, couldn't beat the convenience... check craigslist for used ones though.

I used the double snap and go for the first 8 months. I loved it, I wish the boys weren't so heavy because I would still be using it. I also have the baby trend sbs jogger, and I love it. It is a bit big and hard to stow in a car. I have a mini van, and removed one of the captain seats to get it in when want to take it places. I also have the Jeep SBS umbrella stroller which I got once I no longer used the snap and go. Good luck on your search.

I also found a used double snap n go for my infant seats, it's perfect, it's so light weight and has a huge basket underneath. Once we moved the twins from infant seats to convertible seats at about 3-4 months I switched to my SBS combi twin sport. Loved it. Until they got over a year old, and heavy, and the combi just couldn't handle going to my older kids sporting events at the baseball and soccer fields. So I went with the baby trend expedition double jogger and I love it now. I used it all the time. :)

I have the City MinI and love it!!! My friend has a Macleron stroller that she loves too but hers just doesn't seem as comfy. I also have a TwinTrexx twin baby carrier which has helped in many situations!! I hope this helps!
