How do you handle or deal with your twins when one is on the verge of being sick/teething/allergies and the other is not? I am just looking for ideas!

    Thank you!

I wait until a know for sure what it is. If it's teething, I give them Hylands teething tablet or Tylenol at night if they are very fussy. If it's allergies, best to be checked out by the doctor. The same goes for sickness, depending on what it is.

I also wait until I know for sure.
For teething I use a teething tablet/Motrin combo if they are really bothered by the new teeth.
Allergies-during the 12-24 months, I spoke to my pedi and was able to give a 1/2 tsp of Benadryl---I would consult with your pedi on allergies.
As for how to keep the other twin occupied when the other one is sick, I just make sure the well twin has books to look at, crayons, toys to play with. Sometimes I put in a movie to keep them both occupied.

That is what I have been doing- having movie days... I just worry about the amount of time in front of the tv. (Side note- broke my shoulder and injuried my elbow 4 months ago -still not healed. So they have been watching more tv because of that.) I just was curious if there was anything creative I could do. I guess not.

Thank you for the reassurance though!

I tend to give tylenol/advil when they seem uncomfortable, if they get a fever or start acting really off I get them looked at. Allergies, from experience seem to affect them differently (but maybe I notice that b/c I have an older dc w lots of allergies)

Then I wait for the other twin to get it  My dr's office is really good about this thank goodness, if I bring one in sick on say Wed and the other one starts to show the same symptoms on Friday, they'll just fax another prescription down to our pharmacy.

Ouch, that sucks! I'm so sorry to hear about your injuries. That would make it super tough to handle toddlers, especially if one is sick.

My guys have the attention span of gnats. Jack recently had surgery so we had to restrict his activity for a week and it was really tough. Yes, we watched a lot of Thomas DVDs, but my ILs also nicely sent a care package with some "quiet" toys, including books, puzzles (ones that make sound when you place the item in the correct spot), a coloring book, and a book that they could use this water brush thingie to color with (like an Aquadoodle??). This stuff kept them occupied for a bit, but it's really hard to keep them focused on any one thing for long.
