Ever wondered what gets into the designers' heads when they make toys?

I mean, seriously, what is the point of having the back part of Mr Potato Head so easy to remove? Is it just to annoy parents when their kids ask them to put it back 20 times in one hour?

And why are electronic toys so LOUD?

    And moon doh... seriously???

    Hahaha...so true!

My DS drives me nuts with trailer and tractors not staying hooked together or keeping train cars together. :headbang:

I was actually thinking in the shoe store the other day...what possessed them to put cartoon characters on shoes?!? Marketing ploy to the kids, I know, but really???

OMG, totally! :rotflmbo: Major design flaw.

We have never had any electronic/battery operated toys, because DH & I both know that the noise would drive us NUTS. There is not a single battery operated toy in our house.

This is why I have never bought any battery operated toys for my kids. I'm sure they would drive me insane!

And yeah... Mr. Potato Head's back is much too easy to remove and too hard to put back on. He's on a very high shelf right now so that I don't accidentally drop him in the garbage the next time his back pops off. :aggressive:

I don't know how many times I've reconnected the magnetic pieces on the Thomas the Train cars to keep them together, only to have one of the boys bring it to me 20 seconds later and say, "Fix it!".

    Great thread!

That's why Mr. Potato Head is put away in our house for now
We only get toys that that have a volume button and I keep it on soft and the kids, ironically, are pretty good at keeping it there too.

We have plenty of toys that have been disassembled and duct tape put over the inside of the speaker.

YES!! And why don't they include a LoJack on those suckers so I can find them when my miscreants remove them from the train table and stuff them into shoes in the back of the closet? We now have 2 Percys because we thought one of them went to the Great Smelter in the Sky! My nanny found him wedged in one of the bushes next to the deck.

My DH came home from Target one day with "Window Crayons" -- I can't think of a sillier idea -- we've had enough trouble trying to discourage our kids from drawing on the walls (or other places where drawing is not allowed.) Who thought drawing on the windows was a good idea???
